Havana Reyes — Restaurant in Newark

This is in my opinion the best pan-Latin American restaurant in the Newark area. It’s really small and we’ve never sat down to eat in the space, though we always see people enjoying meals there. We’ve ordered food to take home twice and it’s always outstanding.

The menu is a la carte and very affordable. The food is mostly Cuban and Puerto Rican fare. Very flavorful and not too greasy.

There are also some Ecuadorian dishes on weekends but haven’t yet tried but looking forward to it. My point being that this small space does dishes from different countries very well (they had excellent Puerto Rican Pasteles and Cuban tamales available in the same day!)

Very good Caribbean food ,, u can have food catered when calling ahead of time as for the fritters they have several and will make them fresh on the spot which takes about 5-10 minutes,, the ham and cheese empanadas are yummy ,, Cuban sandwich with fries are only 5$ and great for the pork lover , they also have seviche( mixed seafood or shrimp only ) for on the go for 5$ and fresh variety of squeezed fruit juices upon your kind , definitely...

What an excellent place for deliciously prepared homemade style spanish food. The roast pork is very tender and delicately seasoned. The service is awesome. I highly recommend this restaurant.
