Newark Brew House — Restaurant in Newark

My wife and I stopped here for a drink prior to entering security on 10/19/2025. Our "server", Dianeisy, never greeted us. After sitting at a table for 10 minutes, I finally approached the bar to ask for 2 drinks, which were provided to us.

We were never checked on again nor asked if we needed anything else. After 35 minutes or so of waiting for her to check on us or provide our check, I approached the bar again to ask for our check.

Even though the service was terrible and no tip was warranted, I ultimately decided to leave something (see attached photo for proof). When i got home, my credit card company flagged a 30+ % tip to verify if the amount was accurate, which it was not.

I attempted to contact the number I found online for the business to speak with management about my concern but both numbers I found were out of order.

The server entered a $6.67 tip for herself rather than the actual amount that was given. I know the amount is not significant but the fact of the matter is that this is theft and I wanted to share my concern with others based on the number of other reviews I found with the...

ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE! I came here before my flight and before security check in. I waited 10 minutes to be served while there were only 5 people in the restaurant. The server never even looked at me and in fact, would (seemingly) turn in the opposite direction when walking away from a table in order to avoid making contact with me. Finally I went to her and she barked at me: “I’ll be there in a minute”. I waited. I ordered a pint and then another. When I went to pay my check the waitress printed my receipt and ( in front of me) circled the bottom of the receipt where the tip calculations are. For 2 pints of beer my total was $24.50 and the waitress insisted on not accepting the $30.00 I offered because it was not enough tip. Because I had to leave to catch my flight I could not spend the time to argue. I was charged for 2 20oz beers instead of 2 16oz beers and I was forced to tip an unfair amount for horrible service. This woman preys on people, is horrible at her job and rude to boot. Ask for Tonowa, if she is your server go...

I'm only giving 5 stars beacuse the prices are insane . But the drinks were good . I got a chili melon margarita. My bartender Arieal suggested for me to get a double shot and it was super good . The food was okay I had bao buns. The music was okay but being only bar before TSA with a delayed flight it was cool / the bartender was very funny and she made my time go by super fast . I read another review from the Leroy guy . Where he took a picture of the bartender . Same young woman who waited on me and she was very nice and pleasant . Calling a grown adult a kid in a google review taking a picture with out her consent sounds like buddy was mad she was doing her job . You have to sit down if you want to order this is a full restaurant with one person working . Wait your turn .
