A'xin Sushi&Hibachi — Restaurant in Newberry

This review is about 7 years in the making. This is Newberry/Jonesville's best kept secret and my all-time favorite sushi restaurant. My ex siblings-in-law recommended this place years ago and it soon became our go-to for dinner double dates, regular dates and family outings. I don't live near Gainesville or Newberry anymore, so I don't get to eat here as much as I'd like, but I recently came back and it's just as good as I remembered. There was a time when Dragonfly in Gainesville was the place I frequented for great sushi and while it's still a marvelous place to eat, I actually much prefer Fuji's, which I think is slightly superior. Plus, parking is awful downtown G'ville.

Fuji's fried and deep fried sushi rolls are my favorites. Their Dynamite Roll, Sumo Roll, and Mount Fuji Roll are truly sublime! Let me just add, I love to eat, so I've had many a good meal in my time and I have my favorites... So I can say with confidence and certainty that Fuji's sushi is the greatest I've ever tasted. I know it may sound hyperbolic, but trust me, it's not... Taking those first few bites is almost euphoric; I mean, eyes-rolling-in-the-back-of-the-head kind of feeling. Their non-fried rolls are superb too, but that special crunchiness from the fried ones are just out of this world! They put care into their dish presentation (just look at their photos!), the fish is fresh, the service is always good and even crazier are the prices, which are surprisingly affordable! It's always cool discovering fantastic little hole-in-the-wall restaurants and this one is no exception. Not to mention, there is plenty of parking.

Of all the reviews I've written, this one case where I'd give 6 out of 5 stars if I could. Best food I've ever tasted, at least in my opinion, and everyone else I know that has been there also love it. Highly,...

This is a locally owned sushi restaurants that is hands down amazing. There are so many sushi options with ingredients you really can't find at other sushi restaurants.

It may disguise itself as an ordinary restaurant but let your taste buds take you for a ride. First the Miso or Onion soup are amazing any time of year. When I'm feeling down, the first sip give you that warm feeling of comfort every time!

Now I typically jump right into the sushi as it's my favorite but I have taken some time with the hot menu and have to say Tempura all the way. They have ramen and curry's that are super yummy!

But back to the sushi... two words by friend Wasabi Roe! They have individual sushi you can get with this roe on it but the House Roll w/ or w/o mayo ....OMG!!!! Two pieces of each kind of roe (4 diff kinds total) is an explosion of yum on your tongue.

For people who prefer no rice, the KC roll is so fresh tasting with a touch of sweetness.

For all there other kinds of sushi, the chef knows what he's doing. I have had sushi before at other places that were cut incorrectly and almost had a rough texture to the tongue. Salmon, tuna, eel and only the best Uni! If they can't give you the best quality... they don't carry it.

My wife and I eat here every few days since they opened. We've never had a bad experience and the owners/staff are so extremely kind to us, we love going, they always bless us and everything from their skill to their ingredients to the price of PHENOMENAL for how good this sushi is! The absolute best in Florida, I've never had better, even their maki absolutely stomps their competitors in and out of the county. We can't get enough, and the owners are probably tired of seeing us so often, but WOW!!! We stopped eating fast food, stopped going to many restaurants, we were always disappointed and wasted money around town. Nothing felt right. But when we moved to Newberry right as Axin open we felt it was a major blessing from the Lord. Any time we eat here we feel better, absolutely never had a bad experience.

I hope they remain open, wildly successful, and keep growing from here.
