Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Newcastle

Went to this location today and ordered two burgers on the app. One was a plain burger, plain, nothing on it like lettuce, tomato or mayo, just plain. We added extra pickles and extra ketchup though and that’s it. When the lady brought out the food she listed off everything we ordered and mentioned extra pickles and extra ketchup and nothing else for that burger. The burger came out with lettuce, mayo tomatoes and onions. We kindly let them know that was incorrect and told them it was supposed to be only ketchup and pickles. My wife is allergic to onions. The apologized and went to remake the burger. They brought it out and once again it had tomatoes and onions. The lady then said that we had put it in the app with lettuce tomato, mayo and onion. I told her that was impossible because the tapped on plain burger. I would not go through and add all that. My wife watched me put it in. She had even told us when she brought it out that it was a plain burger with pickles and ketchup. It’s not the fact that the order was wrong. It’s that they lied and said it was our fault. Own up to your mistakes. We wouldn’t have cared about it being wrong it they hadn’t lied. I mean it was a little frustrating it was still wrong the second time but it’s whatever. This sonic has the most inconsistent service. It can be pretty empty but you’ll have to wait 10 minutes for a drink. You order a burger a certain way and you get it however they felt like making it. Sometimes the food is really good but other times the chili tastes bad and the fries/tots taste like the grease hasn’t been changed in a while. The employees don’t always offer customer service either. They are also inconsistent and seem to take their bad or good day out on customers. I tend to avoid this Sonic since I never know what kind of service I’ll get.

Traveling with my dogs limits wwhereI can stop so I was glad to see a Sonic Drive In. Knew I could eat in the car and st as y with my pups, win win. Glad that Sonic gas a card reader on the menu board, as nother win win. Still gave my server a tip. The food was good, though not quite as hot as I would of liked, though the drink was good and cold.

The grounds were littered with food wrappers and the like, however the lawn was mowed which made it easy to walk my dogs and make sure they weren't eating something bad for them.

The bathroom was not very clean at all, glad guys have simple plumbing! Take napkins in with you as the hand dryer doesn't.
