I had a wonderful stay! I sometimes think "Sleep Inns" get a bad rap. and it is true that some are not as nice as others (which is true of EVERY hotel chain), but the Sleep Inn in Norman, OK is doing everything just right!!||The hotel is located right next door to the Riverwind Casino. The hotel has a nice little pantry in the lobby where you can buy food items or sweets or any forgotten toiletries. ||The hotel exterior is very clean and in good shape. The hotel is non-smoking, but they do offer a nice little corner outside complete with a couple of benches. My room was spotlessly clean! || One thing I thing important to mention, is the air conditioner actually worked and worked well! I think some hotel chains will "preset" the temperature so no matter how you adjust the thermostat, they room doesn't cool down past 75 F. My room included a microwave, mini fridge, a good sized TV and nice amenities in the bathroom. BUT - lets talk about the mattress! The mattress was amazing. Not too hard, not too soft. It was just perfect. Admittedly, I was exhausted from a long day of driving and exploring, but that mattress was something special. ||Barbara, who checked me out in the morning, told me that the mattress is a "high end" Serta. Barbara was working the desk and also attending the breakfast area and was just wonderful. Personality is something you can teach, so the hospitality industry really needs more people like her! The breakfast was great. It wasn't as big and didn't offer quite as many options as some hotel chains, but they had omelet, sausage links or patties, and the fun "make your own waffles" station. It also offered yogurt, juices and other items that are typical of a breakfast area.||I will definitely...
Read moreWe arrived on a very cold night and all hotels near by were out of rooms. We seen this one had a few left. When we arrived the front of the building had wor truck and trailers parked everywhere so you couldn't get through. The man at the desk shrugged his shoulders. We were greeted by a very nice young lady that seemed like she was in overload of trying to smooth things over with every customer. The entire front desk area smelled like pee. There was a woman with 2 dogs that had full access to the area. They were barking and growling at everyone. Not cool! I made sure we got a non pet room and was told we did. We did NOT! It smelled like pee in the halls and stairwell. NOT what we are used to at all! The place was dirty. The beds were new but the room was old and had a stale cigarette smell. We had NO room keys because their system was down for hours. We went next door to the casino to kill tome when we got back the front desk said that a guy went up to all the rooms and dropped off the keys. That made us feel very uneasy we gave NO one permission to enter our room. Had a uneasy feeling all night after that! The breakfast was horrible. They are not following the breakfast protocol whatsoever and someone needs to look into this. They were also charging people off the street $10 which...
Read moreI agree that the rooms are clean and the hotel is nice but what you can't see will hurt. My husband and I was bit by fleas or some type of insect, as we checked out we asked for the manger of course no manager was available. I was given the phone numberto call, I reached out the next day and of course the manager was not available. I was told that he will call me the following day no call. So I called and happen to catch someone by the name of John who was suppose to be the manger. John was very nice I'm gonna esaclate this to the top and I will call in 2 hours. Nooooo call. I said maybe he got busy so I waited and call the next day and called to find out that there isn't a John that works there. I ask the host the name of the manager that was on duty yesterday and his name was not John and the manager I spoke with thinking he was a manager was no longer working there. I think we are too grown to play these games. I will never stay there again. My husband had to go to urgent care to get steroid cream for his bites and all we got for the experience was the runaround. Sleep Inn need to hire...
