Hello, i went into waffle house at around 12:30am and sat in a booth with me and my “friend”. We had the server named SHANNA. Everything was going well at first , we got our food and had water. Our server was gone for a while and our water cups were empty. Another employee was passing by and i asked if she can just refill our water for us , we think our waitress is busy. (No big deal) so then the waitress that brought us a refill, gave us water that tasted like sink water. Definitely wasnt the good water we got at first. So we waited maybe another 5 minutes until our original server SHANNA finally came back to check on us. I told her everything was great, I would just like to have another cup of water since ours doesn’t taste right. She then began to question me with the series of questions about why I want to change my drink instead of just changing my drink with no hassle. She then did the most unprofessional thing: there was two men sitting behind us I’m assuming were employees off the clock she went up to them with a cup of water and stated” Can you taste this water the customer behind you claims it taste like sink water“ she’s yelling this statement right in front of us and other customers can hear and are now staring and looking over. What was so hard about just getting a new cup of water instead of completely embarrassing me? She then asked with the attitude what we wanted to drink coke Dr Pepper? I stated that I didn’t want to pay for a drink and she yelled out with the attitude saying we don’t have to pay. At this point now she’s pissing me off and I told her we are fine thank you. I don’t know why she was acting like this I feel race is a big part of this since my white friend she was being nice to and I was the only black person being treated this way at that restaurant. I’m a waitress myself and I know this is definitely not how you treat customers even on your worst day! I asked for a to go box for my sandwich and she tossed the box on the table didn’t even handed to me. I also handed her my card and she put My card down on the counter instead of in my hand, but when my white friend gave her her card she handed her right in her hand and told her have a good night. Now remember this all started from me axing for another cup water. What is this necessary at 1 AM after I was at work all day? No I’m a waitress myself and I know this is absolute terrible behavior and I know for sure SHANNA is very unprofessional and racist. Do not go to here , terrible...
Read moreHorrible 1st experience at this location for myself and my 7 year old son. We recently moved to the Newnan area and typically eat at the location on 34. We eat at Waffle House several times a month and this is the first time we've ever not received service, been properly greeted or asked if we needed anything or to even be seated. We walked in and no one greeted us. Waited a couple of minutes or so to figure out where we would sit because the open tables were dirty and many seats at counter were dirty as well. As we waited a older caucasian couple came in behind us and was greeted and asked if they wanted to seat at one of the tables. The cook offered to clean the table off as all the servers seemed to have attitudes and be doing other things. He proceeded to clean off table and couple sat. He was very pleasant to them and helpful. A server with a nasty attitude proceeded to argue with him in front of everyone (so unprofessional). At some point we decided to sit at the counter....one spot was clean and the other wasn't. We literally sat there for 5-7 mins and only one person spoke...a young African American worker that had been in the back. She smiled, spoke and said welcome to waffle house and then walked back to the back. Still sitting, lady in front of us washing dishes never spoke, the older gentleman walking around greeting people didnt come by...everyone seemed to have an attitude even to the point that the cook stated he didnt know why 1st shift had attitude, he didnt like working with them. I asked my son outloud if he knew what he wanted thinking that would cause someone to come by. Nope...no one came by. We left and proceeded to the one on 34. So sad that we still live in a time where I have to consider that the color of my skin was a factor in how we were treated. Rather that was the case or not...I will never truly know but their service / lack of was a terrible experience and one that I am sure corporate would not...
Read moreMy husband and I walked in to eat after a busy day of door dashing. We sat down and a waitress asked the supervisor (which was confirmed by another waitress that is who he was) about a customers order that seemed to be waiting for awhile. He turned to her and yelled " I DONT KNOW. I AM COOKING AND FILING ORDERS". I work also in food industry and don't think this is appropriate for a supervisor to be yelling at an employee who was plainly doing her job. As I sat there and waited on our waitress I witnessed him yet again get attitude with another employee. Plainly this supervisor needs more training on how to treat his employees and how to keep his personal issues at the door. When our waitress returned we told her that we would not be eating, we had changed our minds. I told her the reason we decided to leave is that we can not eat at a place where I have witnessed this such behavior from someone in that position treat his employees. As we were leaving the waitress looked at us and I said that we are leaving because I don't like the way he was treating you and the other employees. We drove all the way over to Temple Ave...
