Where do I begin!? This place was a great experience, 5-stars ALL THE WAY! One of the best places for a nice Sunday brunch meal and experience. I was so pleased with everything.
For starters, the service from Lorenzo our waiter was superb, he was attentive, made great recommendations/suggestions, was clear and conscise, had an overall positive attitude, and was a good conversationalist. I also met one of the owners and their niece, they were both warm hearted and kind people, they welcomed me in with big smiles, and even checked on me multiple times throughout my visit. They also let me know of their other locations/restaurants and even a little but about their history with this restaurant. Very nice people.
The atmosphere was just perfect, exactly what you would expect from a Mexican food restaurant, perfectly decorated, and Spanish music playing in the background. The Mariachis were there, playing live, which also added a more authentic experience to the place, and they played well too! Ample room inside, and outside! Comfortable chairs and sturdy tables.
As far as their food goes, just wow! Great Mexican food, and I have to say this place has the best mole I have ever tried! Their pozole was amazing as well, I can go there and have bowl after bowl of their pozole alone, and I would be happy just with that! But all their other food is too good to pass up. I went there for their Sunday brunch, and their assortment and variety is so vast, I was not let down whatsoever. So much to choose from for all you picky eaters, LOL! They have great tasting foods, tacos, enchiladas, pozole, empanadas, ceviche, chile verde, rice, beans, omelet station, salad, fruit, desserts/sweets and more! The ceviche plates were fresh and tasty! The tres leches cake was delicious! The enchiladas were filling! Everything was good, I was not upset about anything I tried! I tried as much as I could, and I was impressed more and more with every food I tried.
I would like to add, their mimosas are delicious. I'm not a drinker, but when they combine their freshly squeezed orange juice to their great tasting champagne, I enjoyed this drink very much so. I believe that is the trick to the best tasting mimosas, fine champagne, and freshly squeezed orange juice, not the store bought orange juice like most other places, yuck! But not this place, it is freshly squeezed, you can clearly see it and taste it, what a difference! So I would like to say, this will now be my go to for brunch, hands down. And yes, it is an hours drive time away from me but that's ok, it's all worth it for me.
Thank you Lorenzo for being a fine gentlemen!
See you...
Read moreIf you expect free chips with your meal this is not the place for you. We were charged $6 for chips and $10 for SOME guacamole. My party of four and I were asked if we wanted chips and guacamole, to which we replied yes. This was prior to having received menus. Once we realized that the chips/guacamole cost more than any of our meals we were confused and felt tricked. We refused to pay the steep price (chips are typically free) and a manager came out to confront me. I explained our position and he told me the pricing was in the menu. Well we hadn't seen that and who goes looking for the price of chips and guacamole in a menu anyway? He then said, "Well you ate it, didn't you?", with the kind of attitude and charm that will keep me from ever visiting the establishment again. He then told me that no restaurant gives out guacamole for free. Admittedly, I am aware that there is usually a cost for guacamole. I was foolish enough to think that there might not be a cost given the fact that the chips/guacamole were offered without any request by myself or the three others with whom I was dining. Regardless, I would have been willing to pay the $10 for guacamole given the fact that it usually does come with a cost, but his attitude did nothing to convince me. After lecturing me he told us that he wouldn't be charging us for the chips or guacamole. So he came out for no reason other than to reprimand us with his snarky attitude. It was clearly some sort of trick they pull that most people either don't notice or just let slide. The food was great and our waitress was fine as well despite this little deception that I'm sure the staff are trained to attempt. I guarantee we aren't the first to complain. The manager's responses seemed to be part of some script he had made to rationalize the farce to himself, his staff and customers. I won't tell you not to go, but don't fall for this if you do. I would've gone again despite the incident had the manager not behaved so rudely, but that was the tipping point for all four of us. I hope you enjoyed alienating four customers for the sake of your lecture,...
Read moreEating at dumps like these are part of the reason I stopped eating "Mexican" Its such a cheap and overrated style. The Chairs were literally slimy and sticky. Same with the floors. Paper table cloth over a dirty table cloth? You about to get a visit from a health inspector 🙄. Flatware had dried up food still. And grease spots on the glasses. Furthermore any place that will charge you $10 for Pellegrino is a total ripoff.. As if it was is a luxury item please. But thats not the cooks its management.
Listen. I want to make myself clear. The food was not that bad. It was awesome to eat the same plain old Mexican food rice beans, avocado, salsa ect. with a slightly different taste do two ethnic spices. Which essentially kind of makes it hybrid Mexican. Which is interesting! Plus Food display was awesome. Which tells my the cooks doing his job. If i was the cook, I'd quit and move up.
But management is ruined it by fair prices : cuisine style. Waiter ok but And nobody else is cleaning! The dirtiness of this restaurant was absolutely insane! I would have complained had it not been for the fact that I was not in the mood to upset elderly family. I'm so tired of getting ripped off for eating spicy rice and beans. And having to pay $20 to plate for rice and beans mysteriously spiced. My advice better change your mop heads and use fresh rags and change those tablecloths underneath your paper covers you're about to get a...
