China Star — Restaurant in Newport

This was the worst food I’ve ever had. I could tell the food trays had been sitting out for many hours by the look of them: there was a filmy and clabbered look to most of the food, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was reused from the day before. It’s sad when one of the only edible things at a Chinese restaurant is pizza. (I’m not saying it was good by any means either.) Nothing was fresh. My sister joked and said her food was colder than her drink. If I worked here, I would be embarrassed to allow people to eat the food I saw. I went 4 hours after they opened. I mainly eat in restaurants all over the country for the last 4 yrs... so I've seen alooot of places with food. Went here because of fair reviews... but unfortunately, this place simply can't have more than 3 stars. Maybe ppl in small places, who rarely travel, think this is a good food, but trust me, it is not. I was there at 6pm, there was just 20% of fresh food. For the soups, you can't tell, but mashed potato, mac&cheese, sushi (and that's dangerous), rice, ribs... sooo many items that are far from fresh. Hope they will...

My brother my hubby and I used to go there all the time and their food has always been awesome. However lately whenever we have gone most of the food (honey chicken, sesame chicken, general tso chicken) looks like it had been sitting out for while. It's been super hard and with all three of us suffering from dental problems it's not the best for sensitive teeth.
