joes’s Italian Pizza & Pasta by Duran’s — Restaurant in Newport

I had a to go order, so my review isn't based on a dine in experience. The person that took my order was professional and my food was ready for pick up in a timely manner. I did get the wrong order, but when I brought it to their attention, they apologized and gave me the correct order. An added bonus was that I was allowed to keep the incorrect order as well, so I don't have to worry about lunch tomorrow. I ordered Fettuccini Arrabbiata-chicken and Lasagna. The food was hot (temperature) and delicious. The food came with bread as well. The restaurant was empty between 5:30-6pm on a Saturday, so if you're a person that likes to dine in w/o having to wait to be seated or sitting next to strangers, this may be your place. I did ask if they sold pizza by the slice and they don't. So maybe on my next visit, I'll order a small pizza.

Update: some of the pics of the food that I've seen on this site definitely do not look like the restaurant cook it. Which is weird, b/c their actual food looks presentable. They need to be careful with false advertisement. So if you're interested in trying this restaurant b/c some of the pics that probably belong to a different restaurant, you'll be very disappointed. I ordered online and was told by slice (app) that they delivered to my area. After waiting 50 minutes, I receive a call from the restaurant that they would be unable to deliver. I received my 3 dollar delivery fee back. When I received my food, my pizza was cold, my calzone was Burnt and the breading was soft and doughy. The pizza had no visible sauce and was excessively greasy. My sons salad ($15) was just wilted lettuce, melted than hardened cheese, and greasy chicken. My husband's shrimp ravioli was bland ravioli with whole shrimp swimming on some fishy pink type sauce. I paid over $65 and it was absolutely disgusting. Hubby & I went to joes for a late date night, we have never been here before. We both ordered steak (Marsala & fungo) and oh my 😊👌🏽 talk about a darn good meal! Thank you to the man who prepared our meals. Steak was cooked PERFECTLY!! Pasta was beautifully made with both sauces full of flavor. Joe’s just became our monthly date night spot. Excited to take the kiddos for family night as well! Our waitress, Tessa was so attentive and sweet. Her kindness was very much appreciated especially since we went in an hour before closing.
