Newtown Square Pizza — Restaurant in Newtown Township

Consumer beware - there is a HUGE difference in menu pricing between what the online menu and the printed menu in the store say vs what they will charge you. Two weeks ago we ordered a plain, medium sized pizza and a chicken tender platter with fries. According to the menu available on the website, as well as in the store, our total should have been just under $30. We were charged the “new menu” pricing which brought our total over $40. Now, I totally understand how the economy is working right now and I expect pricing increases at our local restaurants. I’m also happy to support our small and local business establishments and will pay more for high quality food. However, this was a HUGE price difference and when I went to pick up my food there was zero signage stating price increase and there certainly was not a physical menu that reflected this pricing either.

If the food had been awesome I probably wouldn’t have written this review but it really was borderline gross. Grease dripping off the pizza. Pizza crust comparable to that of a frozen pre-made dough from the grocery store. More breading than chicken in the tenders. Very small portions of everything. We order the same food from a neighboring pizza joint regularly and pay less for incredible food with portion sizes large enough for dinner leftovers for the whole family the next day.

The food is always good but the service behind the counter or the ones who answer the phone are awful. My family usually order from here every Friday but after today I don’t think we will be using them ever again. I asked for a hamburger medium and the kid on the phone had no clue what I was talking about. I asked to speak to a manager and they just gave the phone to another kid, I asked to speak to the manager from him and they gave me an older sounding kid. All I wanted to do was make sure the order was correct since the last kid I talked to sounded like his mind was blown and thankfully I asked cause, the pepperoni Stromboli I ordered some how was a pepperoni cheese steak. Then the manager was nice and said I would get a $10 discount for the confusion told me the total and it was more then it was on GRUB HUB even after the fees. New to town & thought I'd give them a try as their previous poor reviews had been from 3 years ago. As anyone reading this can safely assume from my 1 star review I regret my choice. I ordered an 18" square pizza ($17) from a menu we received last week in the mail. When I went in to pick It up they tried charging me $20 insisting the menu I had was old. I explained I just moved here and it just came in the mail. The guy told me it was old & wrong and to go look at the posted menu on the counter (same menu as mine). I showed him the $17 price & he insisted it was a misprint & I was still to be charged the $20. After nearly 5 minutes of arguing (he VERY rudely walked away numerous times) my pizza which had been sitting on the counter was now cold. Will not be returning. Additionally it was thin & tasted as though the dough had been over worked and...
