Neon Nights Bar — Restaurant in Nicholasville

Came here from Lexington for the karaoke this past Friday night. Enjoyed it until time to close our tab. I drank well bourbon my wife drank well vodka. Both doubles. Mine was neat and hers was with sprite and a dash of cranberry. When I ordered our first round and opened our tab I asked how much that round cost. I was told 10$. I replied for” all this”and was told yes. I had a discussion on what kind of well liquor this was. Quality house was the brand. 750ml at liquor store is 9.99$. So I figured 2.50$ a shot was not too low as i had initially suspected. Enjoyed the karaoke and had a good time. When I closed tab I was told 68$. Being that we had 4 rounds total I questioned why so high. They said we had two mixed drinks etc. also that they charge for the sprite and the cranberry juice. Still questioned why 4 sprite and dash of cranberry would cost 28$ more. They offered a revised price of 62$. I objected since it should have been around 42.40$ based on the initial drink cost per bartender. It was my time to sing so my wife completed the transaction. She told me she paid 65$ including tip. As we were leaving the table I turned toward the bar and see the bartender flipping the bird at me. She immediately came from behind the bar and apologized stating it wasn’t directed at me but rather at a friend of hers that had just walked out the front. I felt as if it was toward me. She could tell by the look on my face I was very unhappy with all that had transpired in the last minutes there. She proceeded to follow us out the door saying things like I took 28$ off you bill…….. I don’t need this...

So we decided to try out one of the bars here near our home and chose this one to be the first. When we walked in we were not ID’d, greeted, nor searched which gave the first red flag as anything can happen in a bar setting. It took about five mins until we were able to order a drink the bartender was not friendly at all he took our order we paid in cash and personally handed him the bill he came back and tossed our change on the counter bills and coins now at first i’m thinking okay he just busy and moving quickly but then I sat and observed every white person he served that paid in cash handed him cash and he personally handed it back to them EVERY ONE OF THEM! He even went to hand someone some change who had walked away from the bar and he sat there with his hand in the air waiting patiently for her to come and grab her change from him bills and coins! Then he didnt even make my drink correctly a simple Amaretto sour and he added soda to it 😒

We left after just one drink whole scene made me uncomfortable will never go back and definitely will never recommend!!

The bartenders are very friendly. The owner is a disgusting human being who likes to makes jokes about sexual assault and thinks it's even funnier to bring up children. He said nothing else after the fact, only trying to defend himself by saying it was just a joke. I gave him a piece of my mind and he went silent, hopefully something I said went to that ill brain of his.
