Depot Street Pizza — Restaurant in Nicholasville

Just spent $50 on pizza here just to get home and have a long grey hair baked through the cheese.(We have dark brown hair.)Called just to let them know so maybe they’ll put on a hair net or something and they basically called me a liar. She said “ A long grey hair! , nobody here has grey hair let alone long” but yet I watched an older lady and younger male cooking the pizza. Plus an older lady that checked me out. Checkout was another issue. It took 20+ minutes and was charged $70 at first. Their prices in store are different than online, more. Plus they sold one of my pizzas while I was waiting to pay so I had to wait on another. I had to repeat what I ordered 20 times before I paid. And that’s after I stood there waiting for her to take phone order after order before finally getting to me. I was there almost 45 minutes. You've got to plan ahead in order to enjoy their pizza, BUT it is worth the wait! It is the best pizza I've had in Nicholasville. They make their own dough in house, the ingredients were the freshest I've seen, the pizza was not greasy and it had great flavor on the crust topped with a combo of different cheeses. We had the Focosa (Salami & Tomato), as well as the Veggie and both were mouth-wateringly delicious. I know this is going to seem like over-stating it, but a couple who ate with us has traveled in Italy, and they said the pizza from Depot Street rivaled if not surpassed some they had tried in Europe! Wood fired pizza (you can see the logs burning in there). It is pricey but the meat pizza was very very good. Nice and friendly people working there. Stopped on a whim but had called before and was told "they weren't making pizza that night" so maybe call beforehand. Also have a nice selection of produce. Bought some coffee that smells like Buffalo Trace bourbon. Hope it tastes as good as it smells....
