Upon entering we were happily greeted and given a table right away. Our server was happy, helpful and always there when we needed a refill or were ready to order. The atmosphere was calm and enjoyable with music in the background that was at a perfect level as to not interrupt conversation. The décor was very nice and did not feel like some chain restaurant that got al of their tables and chairs at Biglots, it actually felt like a human being decorated and put time into everything. The Food The menu was small but full of some great Items. We had the gritcake with pulled pork for an appetizer, I wish I would have taken a picture because it was plated beautifully and tasted just as good. Our main courses were catfish with red pepper sauce, asparagus and fried chicken with a bacon cheese waffle. Both were amazing, great portions and well worth the money. This is one of the first pieces of chicken I have purchased as a restaurant and thought it was worth every cent. We were too full to try dessert, but will certainly be back to give it a go when we are in the area again. The food was scratch made and the menu was not littered with frozen tasteless food from the back of a Sysco truck. You could tell that the food was quality and made with purpose by a person who is practicing a skill in the kitchen and not just using a microwave or deep fryer. The restaurant was lovely, clean and comfortable. The staff was bright happy, helpful and you could tell they believed in this place and wanted to be there. On the way out I washed my hands and the bathrooms were lovely clean and spacious, they also get bonus points for locks that say occupied or vacant.
Cannot wait to eat...

Bekah greeted and served me, she was super sweet and efficient- she answered all my culinary questions with grace. The limited menu is packed with quite interesting flavor pairings- I was torn between the shrimp and grits and chicken sandwich (which, if there was pickled onions on it with the pimento cheese and pickles, I’d have gotten that).
Alas, I was feeling spicy so I got a spicy marg and the shrimp and grits with a side of house made hot sauce.
The marg was very smooth and flavorful, with a tajin rim and lasted just long enough for my food to come out.
The house made hot sauce has a Tabasco essence with more of a punch, if I could buy this by the bottle, I WOULD.
On to the main dish, the shrimp and grits were the perfect portion topped with scallions and parsley and corn. At first I was a bit surprised by the pool of grease the shrimp were bedded on, but throughout eating, I found it to be useful in adding extra flavor. The shrimp were a hefty size and flavored well. The grits are Weisenberger Mill steel cut and very flavorful and creamy.
Only reason I’d knock a half a point was for the pool of grease, but even then it had its merits during my experience, so I’m probably just being picky.
Can’t wait to see how this place grows and what offerings they add in as they find their footing and identity. Welcome to...
Read moreMy wife and I were lucky enough to get a reservation for their first lunch soft opening launch today. The restaurant was filled but we were greeted upon entry by their nice staff and immediately taken to our table. We were given the menu and our drink order was taken. Our drinks were brought to our table and the nice and friendly server took our order. My wife ordered the smash-burger with fries and I ordered the chicken and waffles. I looked around the room and everyone seemed like they were enjoying the food and atmosphere. Our meals were brought promptly to the table and we dove in. Before I remembered to take a picture our food was devoured. My wife loved her burger it was cooked to perfection! I loved my chicken and waffles and side of cheese grits. The fried chicken was seasoned and marinated so well that it might be the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. The cheese grits were exceptional as well. The chef/owner came around to every table thanking us for coming. We paid our bill and my wife has been raving about the food since leaving. This is going to be a great restaurant for Nicholasville! Don’t walk but run to get a table...
