A Culinary Evening to Remember
One of the most delightful experiences Iāve shared with my boyfriend, Brett, took place at an intimate little restaurant tucked away in the heart of the city. The evening was a celebration of our anniversary, and it turned out to be one of those perfect nights where everything seemed to fall into place effortlessly.
As we stepped into the restaurant, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. Soft, golden lighting bathed the room, creating a cozy ambiance that was both elegant and unpretentious. The walls were adorned with tasteful artwork, and the gentle strains of classical music played in the background, setting a serene tone for the evening.
We were seated at a corner table by a large window that offered a view of the bustling city streets outside. The sight of twinkling city lights combined with the tranquility inside made for a captivating contrast. The restaurantās attentive staff welcomed us with a genuine smile, and their service was impeccable throughout the evening.
The meal began with a selection of appetizers, each plate a work of art. We enjoyed a fresh, tangy ceviche and delicate truffle-infused risotto. The flavors were vibrant and perfectly balanced, showcasing the chefās skill and creativity. As we savored each bite, we exchanged delighted glances, sharing the joy of discovering such exquisite dishes together.
For the main course, Brett chose a perfectly seared steak, and I opted for a beautifully prepared seafood medley. Each dish was presented with a flair that matched its exceptional taste. The steak was tender and flavorful, while my seafood was cooked to perfection, with a harmonious blend of textures and flavors. The wine pairings recommended by our server complemented our meals perfectly, enhancing each dishās unique qualities.
Dessert was an unforgettable experience in itself. We shared a decadent chocolate fondant that oozed rich, molten chocolate with each bite. It was the perfect end to our meal, providing a sweet and indulgent conclusion to an already remarkable evening.
Throughout the night, we were immersed not only in the culinary delights but also in each other's company. Our conversation flowed effortlessly, punctuated by laughter and heartfelt moments. It was one of those rare occasions when time seemed to stand still, allowing us to fully appreciate the present.
As we left the restaurant, we felt a deep sense of contentment and gratitude. The combination of the superb food, the charming atmosphere, and the quality time spent together made the evening truly special. It was a reminder of the simple yet profound joys of lifeāgood food, great company, and the creation of cherished memories.
This memorable dinner with Brett remains a highlight in our shared experiences, a testament to how the smallest moments can often become the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - Here is my advice to this establishment Don't seat to capacity, DON"T make excuses...seat to the capability of your staff to provide your customers the service they deserve. Terrible service, a one-and-done with this restaurant.
Stopped in for lunch here at 1:00 pm, not all tables were full but were told it would be a 50-minute wait so we gave them our phone number to be called when a table was ready. I missed the call but called back within one minute. I was told that if we weren't there in 5 minutes they would give our table away.
We were seated and waited another 20 minutes before I went to the front to inform them we are waiting for a waitress. 30 minutes after sitting down we were finally sent a waitress.
The waitress apologized as she didn't know we were there...funny how you just dropped off drinks at the table next to us, but you didn't "see us" sitting at the only other table in your section. We ordered both our drink and food order...salads, drinks arrived 15 minutes later...she was checking on our food order....and 15 minutes later checking on our food order again, other tables have come and gone...The waitress said they are waiting on the chicken breast to add to our salad, we were told that 3 times...
50 minutes later our $7.00 small salads with chicken arrived but not by our waitress, but rather by the manager on duty. She explained that she wasn't aware of the "situation" - I'm thinking to myself, what situation?
She felt bad and bought us a drink...stated that their kitchen was really small - what does that have to do with our food order of two salads and is this what you tell all your customers? Sorry, your order is late, we have a small kitchen...then perhaps you should remodel and expand your kitchen. By the way, our "added chicken" to our small salads never even had one grill mark on them...no fry marks, no markings of any kind... ahhh yes, thank you for making us wait 45 plus minutes to microwave our chicken breast. And as I stated to the waitress, no red onion on my salad...thank you for adding the red onion... seriously.
This was our first time there, our last time there - Rude waitstaff, our waitress never did show back up at our table. The total timeline at this establishment: 50 Minute wait list 20 minutes for me to ask for a server 10 minutes before a server was sent 15 to get a drink 45 minutes to get 2 small salads Well over 2 hours for a drink and a small salad.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give it 3.5 if I could, but I can't justify 4 yet, so apologies for the hard 3. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous, however, it's quite slow due to what I'm guessing is an overall labor shortage around the Nisswa area. The sunfish po'boy was disappointing. It seems to be more focused on quantity than quality. The breading on the sunfish was nice, crispy, and not at all greasy, but completely lacked any flavor. The fillets were so wide it was impossible to close the sandwich. They would be better served to either switch to shrimp, or just have a nice sunfish platter. The french fries were excellent. Crispy exterior, soft interior, nice level of seasoning. The Mexican street corn needs a better description as it's nothing like elote, which I love. It was just deep fried baby corn, which has a high water content, so it gets super soggy. Walleye entree: Fish was seasoned well, but overcooked. Wild rice was cooked perfectly, but had way too many cranberries, and would benefit from mushrooms. Asparagus was overcooked, stringy, and limp. It is still a rather new place, and I'm sure they'll find their rhythm. We've been three times, and two experiences were like this, but one was great, so we'll give it a fourth try when we're up next and see what happens. The price points are very fair for what they're trying to achieve, I think they just need to work on some...
