The Chocolate Ox — Restaurant in Nisswa

This is the chocolate ox that's the closest to Grandview lodge resorts. It's a nice little walk from the hotel or cabin sections. There's a cute ice cream cone out front. Only a handful of places to eat ice cream sitting down. Mostly tables. About 8 plastic tables. Some has umbrellas and others don't. When we came here the first day we arrived the cashier was very busy doing her job! Cleaning both the inside and outside glass of the door to the chocolate ox. She greeted us with a very sweet smile and apologized for getting in the way. She was extremely polite and quiet. But helpful and patient while we order $87 worth of candy! Like I mentioned on my other review at Grandview, getting ice cream at the chocolate ox is a must! It's not that long of a walk to the beach from the store! You just have to be okay with multitasking by eating ice cream and walking. We also got a hat from here. We don't regret it either! Fair prices for the amount of candy...

This place is charming, sweet, and perfectly located if you’re visiting Grandview. I got two scoops, which were both delicious but one was much more flavorful and textured than the other. Here’s the scoop: the peanut butter cookie dough was delicious in flavor, consistency, and texture. The yippee skipee was good but lacked flavor in the parts that weren’t bites of fudge or other nuggets of candy. My partner got espresso, turtle, and their special one and liked them all. Two scoops was just enough for me to enjoy a treat in the summer heat and walk down to the lake. Oh, also there’s an adorable giant ice cream cone statue out front that makes for cute pics & memories. Def recommend with a slight warning if you are really in ice cream need: sometimes the line is long and sometimes there’s no line, so be prepared to wait...

Take the kids!!! We brought our boys while visiting up north and their little eyes bulged trying to take in all that The Chocolate Ox had to offer! I'm sure if you asked my husband, mine probably were too!!! All sorts of candy, chocolates and fudges! Oh and the ice-cream! SO much ice-cream!!! We outdid ourselves and left absolutely stuffed lol. They've got a cute little sitting area outside the shop as well! We can't wait to stop back next time...
