Facilities- can't complain. Had some ascetic appeal and a couple cool putting greens
Course - Tee boxes were batting .500 for conditioning at best. Fairways were batting .333 at best as well , alot of bad grass and some water issues. Greens were horribly maintained many fringes were a patch of sod that was half dead .
Cart girl- saw her twice . C'mon
Price- the best part. 175 is laughable. They have dynamic pricing that they say is dictated by supply and demand . If you breeze through the website through hotel guest and other memberships you will find alot more tee times then what available on the public button . Try decons or white birch . For all the locals. Fiddlesticks is better maintained.
Staff- Didn't see the starter till we had 2 balls already hit. Pro shop was a professional. Bartender and wait staff were great. Dropped my bag off after the round . Gave the bag staff a 20 to carry my clubs 20 feet . They had rags so I figured my clubs would get cleaned but instead they were left out in the rain while we dined. Not a single club was cleaned.
To wrap it up . When you pay 175 I'd expect something that is up there with decons and the quarry but it just didn't deliver. The pines should not be mentioned amongst these courses. Heard a group talking how the course sucked when we pulled up l. They were right!

Read moreThe tale of two rounds. Day one, I played solo in the pouring rain on the woods and marsh courses. It was so fun. Even in the rain, the course was beautiful, and being out there alone with my music playing in the cart was quite peaceful. Day two, I played the same courses with a friend and an amazing local couple. The weather was perfect and the course was gorgeous. Every member of the staff was genuinely nice, including my friend at the pro shop who made a rainy day one I will always remember. I highly recommend any golfer who appreciates Minnesota golf at its finest to play The Pines at least once... even if...
Read moreThe Pines course at Grand View Lodge on Gull Lake (located at the main resort centre) is a well-rated and pleasantly testing 27-hole layout. This tree-lined parkland course, comprising the Lakes, Woods and Marsh nines, should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Plenty of golfing challenge, a well-crafted design and usually good upkeep all contribute to the appeal of this course. One to include on your play list if you are...
