I will not play this course again and would recommend other experienced golfers to take their money to one of the similarly priced, better kept courses in Hamilton county.
1 star off for pricing - severely overpriced for quality 1 star off for course quality - the course had not been watered in days, may as well have been playing in a parking lot 1 star off for the worst bratwurst I have ever eaten in my life - it was rock solid and unbelievably dense all while tasting like wet cardboard
Detailed review: A friend of mine recommended pebble brook to me as a “decent course”. So I decided to give it a try because my usual course was closed this particular day. I went for a twilight round on the south course at 5:00 pm on a Friday. Rate was $49 for 18.
The first thing I noticed when arriving at this course is that it is owned and operated by a development company. You drive through their neighborhoods to get back to the course and see all the pebble brook houses and apartments. This rarely bodes well for the quality of golf courses.
The entire course (tees, fairways, roughs, greens, all of it) were all rock hard. Genuinely the hardest surface I have played in a long time. They were spot-watering a few locations while I was playing, but you could tell the majority of the course had been without water in the July heat for at least a couple days.
There were many rough (bare) patches on the fairways and approaches. A few holes had crabgrass growth on the fringes. Ball mark scars all over the greens. The tee boxes were absolutely littered with tees as if the players here don’t know that they are reusable. The south course is also pretty short. Pretty much the entire back 9 feels crammed in and poorly designed. A couple holes also play right along the very noisy little Chicago road. Overall, the course is a simplistic design and does not receive the necessary maintenance to justify its price. Nonetheless, it was playable.
The south course plays along houses on many holes. It’s fine, but I personally hate neighborhood courses. In this case, the cart path weaved in and out of open neighborhood streets with no separation. When I arrived to hike 17, I encountered some neighborhood residents having a party and putting on the green. They were completely unaware of my presence until I was basically on the green. In talking to them, it was clear this is a regular occurrence for them. No accountability by pebble brook for play like this, even if they do happen to be members there.
Finally, see the note above. The “bratwurst” from the clubhouse was a disgrace to tube shaped meats everywhere...
Read moreSaturday 07/28/2012 I invited a friend visiting from Michigan to play a round of golf, and because we wanted to play early in the morning, and I had no chance to book tee time early in my club, I picked Pebble Brook to play. We were assigned to play at the NORTH course. I was quite embarrased to bring my friend there !!!!!!! 90% of the fairways were in poor to worse conditions. The Tees were all distroyed and it was very difficult to find a good piece of grass to tee-off. The greens were not taken care properly and many of them were with yellow patcheds and quite difficult to pot. We did not enjoy the experience and did nbot finish our round.
I had played Pebble Brook few years ago and have had a good experience. The North course today is NOT recommended at all. Please keep yourself away from it.
I really hope that the Pebble Brook management looks at this course and close it until it is repaired and do not open it until it is in conditions to play a decent...
Read moreWouldn’t play here again unless asked by a friend or a group. I really don’t like leaving negative reviews but here we are.
This is a high school course on the weekdays and they think sending out a 2 some in a cart behind 4 walking groups of 4 is a good idea. You have the coaches driving around and kids coming out of the bushes to jump on a hole and then go somewhere else. It’s like a free for all it’s really strange.
No one repairs divots and greens are a wreck
People treat the course like their personal highway and you see carts everywhere blowing past you or cutting across the fairway in the middle of your shot. People who aren’t even playing but live in the neighborhood and drive their cart around.
Could be really good. But seems like they are fine with the way things are being over run by high school kids with no golf etiquette and neighborhood cart goers who just drive around doing...
