While out running errands, I saw this little restaurant right off Buford Highway. I had heard about the tongue tacos that they served there. While the tongue did not interest me, I knew a beef or chicken taco would. I knew I was in for some real Mexican food when I saw that most of the customers were in fact Mexican. I'm glad I went in. The menu had pictures of the different plates you can order..and they were also numbered in case you don't speak Spanish. I do speak Spanish, and I STILL used the numbers. Lol I wanted to be clear I didn't say the wrong plate choice because I did not want to accidentally eat the tongue taco. Haha. I've heard its good..but nah. So, I ended up ordering a kids meal which had 2 amazing tacos and fries(which I was happy to see). I ordered a pineapple fountain drink which I absolutely loved. For a kids meal, it was a lot of food. Perfect for me actually. I went to their little salsa/sauce bar and got 3 different sauces and pico de gallo to put on my tacos. Keep in mind the actual authentic tacos here do not look like a taco bell taco. Its really all about the meat. Then, you add what you want. I also got a lime slice and I squeezed it over my taco. This food was delicious. The prices are great, and I even noticed how clean the place was. The bathroom was actually super clean too. Fyi, I walked in with a mask on, and the employees wore masks, but I can tell you masks are not enforced. Don't be shy to try this place. I really like it for what it was. Casual...
Read moreFood is not 100% mexican at all but is ok option for late night dinner.
Street tacos not original and tortilla not traditional.
Service ok but only thing with service if you close at 12, does it means i can get in to seat and eat my dinner or actually whole please closes at 12, is it better to announce kitchen closes at 11:30 so we can have at least 30 min to eat (if they serve your food fast) this is because prior to 12 they start to push you to hurry up with your dinner.
Atmosphere: 2 stars because the same deodorant they use to clean the restrooms is the same that they use to mop the floor on dinning room so it is bothering to breath restrooms deodorant while you eat. I think that's is gross, every time I go is same smelling. That smelling actually doesn't means place is clean so I guess they should use different type of cleaner so odor is not in atmosphere.
Most of mexican or hispanic places don't give a dime for complaints or suggestions so I hope this place take care of those points.
I know i know, may be am the only one putting those points to be reviewed but probably there other people with same feelings but they're not to fan to review places.
So hopefully management take...
Read moreDon Pedro's is by far the best Mexican food restaurant within at least a 100 mile radius from its location. I love coming here and immersing myself in the Mexican experience, the location is small and quaint and to me it feels as though I'm in a part of Mexico i've never been before. I highly recommend the Horchata water, you can get as many refills as you want and its refreshing and delicious. The selection from the menus if abundant and varies from "Huevos Rancheros" to "Menudo," and the flavors of the food are purely authentic and tasty. There's also a large bar of accoutrements that range from sauces, lime, pickled jalapeños, pico de gallo and so on. If you ask me i've never had quite the selection of sauces at any Mexican restaurant i've been to before, this place has it all. If you want to experience Mexico away from Mexico you must come here, the workers barely speak english, the religious ornament are prominent throughout the restaurant and of course you always have Telenovelas playing in the background, seriously an experience that must be had. PLEASE GIVE THESE PEOPLE ALL...
