Excellent fusion food and service. Casual upbeat ambiance. I went for lunch but this would make a better dinner service if the restaurant serves alcoholic drinks. That is not to say they didn't have good drinks. They have very good non-alcoholic drinks. The menu is short and sweet, which is a huge plus for me, since I consider a small menu means fresher ingredients rotating daily. It also helps the decision making much easier. Overall, we loved our meal and would definitely come back, maybe even bring our Viet parents next time (a little nervous about this since they usually have higher expectations, will update if they approve)
Food: Pear salad - my goodness, the BEST salad I've had in a long time. I'm not a salad fan but this was so good I had to order one to go for my parents. Refreshing, light, tangy, slightly sweet with a nutty twist. I will pay $16 to order this every time I come here and highly recommend this dish!
Truffle fries - $8, this was average. I do like the spicy mayo dipping sauce with it.
Galbitang- $21, okay so when I think of korean soups, I think of this. I always order this and have had it at many korean restaurants before. I was excited to see how a Viet fusion restaurant can make this taste good so I had to order. There is definitely a Vietnamese twist in the broth. It is slightly sweeter and deeper in flavor, kinda like a combo of pho broth and Galbitang broth. It comes with enoki mushrooms and potatoes, which I thought worked perfectly with the broth. Every bite was hearty and satisfying. Highly recommend as well.
Lomo Saltado - $20, imagine if bò lúc lắc (Vietnamese shaking beef) and lomo saltado (a Peruvian dish) had a child, it would be this dish. It came with fries and a choice of rice or garlic noodles. I picked the garlic noodles, which didn't impress me, mainly because I like mine more al dente. The flavor is decent otherwise. The highlight of this dish has gotta be their TENDER filet mignon. My god the beef was soooo asfjsk good. The flavor is the perfect inbetween of bò lúc lắc and lomosaltado. I really enjoyed this and would recommend.
Lychee sour and Strawberry lemonade - FREE bc this is their second week of opening, otherwise $5 each and they are DELICIOUS. The highest compliment one can get from an Asian for any drink/dessert is when we say "oh not too sweet" and we both said that as we drank these haha. These drinks passed the vibe check, to say the least. I would love to see how a cocktail menu can be developed from...

Read moreThe pear salad is FLAWLESS. Never have I ever thought there would come a day when the best thing I ate at a restaurant would be a salad, until I ate at BEP Corner. The pear & arugula salad is honestly large enough to share amongst 3-4 people, but you can probably make it an entree for one. I have tried to recreate this salad at home and came close but BEP Corner's version is too good, even at the $16 price tag...
For my entree, I got the garlic noodles with salmon. The salmon was lightly seasoned, which is how I like it. It was closer to well-done so it was a little dry for my preference. Garlic noodles did not have enough garlic flavor, in my opinion, for a dish with such namesake. Brussels sprouts would have elevated the dish if they were roasted or grilled; they were simply bland that day. My friend ordered the galbitang, which I tried. The broth was flavorful and noodles gave a slight and pleasant chew. Don't order this on a first date unless you're willing to let your date watch you go savage on the bones (worth it, tbh).
We also ordered lychee sours and were very happy with that decision. Now if only BEP Corner could get an alcohol license to make those lychee sours...
