Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Norfolk

I love Jersey Mike's! This location is just not my favorite. Born and raised in Jersey, I know how Jersey Mike's functions! I've always had super friendly service and I've never had a bad sandwich! My husband is stationed here in VA, so we've been visiting the one on Hampton Blvd. I'm pregnant for my second time, so I need to be careful with lunch meat. I've eaten at other locations during this pregnancy and my last pregnancy and anytime I've ever asked to have my meat microwaved or thrown on the grill, the employees throw it on the grill without hesitation...however, this location - 2 out of the 2 times I've been there, the employees make an issue of it.. It's really off putting =\ I have 10 years of experience in the food industry; I'm easy going, I don't expect a cheesy over the top bubbly smile, but it irks me when I go out to eat and employees act like you're inconveniencing them. This past time, after feeling like we didn't receive the friendliest service, (first raising an issue that I asked for my meat to be heated and secondly because we felt really rushed in an empty restaurant), I watched the same employee act "smart" towards another customer while my husband and I ate our food. Our sandwiches were tasty because Jersey Mike's puts out great products and they were made correctly! However, the less than friendly service our past 2 visits is enough for us to visit a different location from now on, even though this one is less than 5 minutes...

On this stormy day finishing up my long weekend I was craving a spicy all beef sub from Chicago. But alas I was no where near. So in my pursuit of this food through rain and crazy Virginia drivers, I found this place. When I walked in I was greeted by three workers: Javi, Hanna, and Anthony. These three were fantastic and hard workers. After asking each their favorite sub I chose Anthony to make it. He made me a #43 and to make it how he likes it, but spicy. Let me tell you it hit the craving I longed for. Such rich flavor, just spicy enough to keep you going back for more. Like when a woman bites your lips during a kiss. Absolutely wonderful. Their boss should be Absolutely proud of these three and are quality employees that go...

I ordered ahead online because I got a 30 min lunch. I got a #8 and got mikes way minus the Mayo. I don’t eat Mayo. I added jalapeño and banana peppers. I pick my order up the staff is not even acknowledging my existence I finally get someone’s attention who give me my order. I take it and when I take a bite I got a mouth full of Mayo! I almost threw up. They didn’t add the peppers either. So I call to let them know so I can either get a refund or have them make me a new one. The girl that answered asks me to take the sandwich back I tell her I can’t at the moment she tells me I’ll get my manager and had me on hold for 10 minutes before I decided to hang up.
