Plate Me Please Seafood & Bistro/Bar — Restaurant in Norfolk

The large piece of fish was perfection! However the smaller piece and the fries were greasy and rubbery. The Mac was decent. However the service was weird af. Let me back back a few here… I ordered a 2pc fish entree yesterday, comes with 2 sides. I chose Mac and collard greens. When you order online you have to enter your name and number. I get there to pickup my meal ( the place is super cute, I’m planning meetings there in my head as I look around) and they’ve replaced my veggie with French fries. Long story short, I wanted a veggie not a greasy but I was informed after asking for sum diff 2x that they would only be serving fries with all of their meals staring today. I was then offered a refund for my entire meal, when I didn’t even put up another protest. (If I was greeted when I came in the door and told that from jump, there wouldn’t have been any protest!- when I came in, a young male saw me and proceeded to turn around and walk away without greeting me, so I greeted him✨). I told the young man I can take the fries out when I get home, I still want my food. STILL OFFERED ME A FULL REFUND!🥴 ATP, my baby and sister in the car. I’m hungry. Just gimme my food! It was 2 of them there, no veggies should’ve been communicated at the top of the day. I’m HUNGRY! I don’t want a refund, I want food They had my name and number, yet no one called to inform me that there were changes to the menu prior to my arrival After that service and limiting the food options on top of already heightened prices, I’m kinda mad the place was so cute🙄. Cuz I wanted to have meetings there and give the people our money. Dashed my hopes of their potential within 5 minutes. Y’all! I now understand what the people say about supporting black businesses. I LOVE y’all but we gotta do better my babies✊🏾🫶🏾

WELL WELL WELL. Look at what I have discovered for the New Year of 2021. Yes this amazing restaurant. First let me say, yes I am still doing Keto but I give myself cheat days. This was the perfect cheat meal. I ordered the Salmon Cake and eggs. Back home we call it salmon patty and he gives my mom a run for her money. It was so good yal... It took everything in me not to go back in and order another...lol I couldn't stop eating it. Yes I ate it in the parking lot...lol. I also had the bacon egg n cheese sammie...smh...I think he makes his food with love or whoever is cooking in that kitchen. I forgot to ask the gentlemen his name but he was so nice and was telling me about them opening recently. I give an A+ plus for customer service... that is always a plus. That sammie...I had to look at it and see what was on it, I think it was the cheese that gave it that extra something that makes you say that was a good a** sammich. So for my Keto friends out there... I carb count so I didn't eat all the bread but that first bite had me wanting to eat the whole entire thing. So 2 for 2. Now on to the 3rd. I ordered a side of grits. So delicious. He has a special twist to them that makes them cheesy and good...I love grits...my one Keto weakness and I took several bites before I was like ok enough. Last but not least. The BANANA PUDDING!!! Remember Keto cheat day. I was sooo shocked!!! For the banana pudding lovers, yal have gots to try it or if you just have a sweet tooth. The BEST part was it was CAKE in the middle. The pudding was just the right amount of sweet. The cake was good and combined together will have yo palate pleasantly pleased and doing a happy dance in your mouth. His take on the dessert is my favorite!!! Well I broke all the Keto rules today but having off days like this is definitely worth it. I wanted something good and was rewarded with so much more. Not sure if it was just today but the staff really rubbed me the wrong way. I submitted an order while 20mins away through their own website and once I get there I waited for the young lady helper to come out & I tell her I needed to pick up an order I placed online. It's like she didn't hear me or just wasn't listening she asked me what I wanted. I told her again that I placed an order online, 3 pc fish, etc..she goes to say they didn't have any online orders?? I told her where I ordered, that I had a confirmation msg and they already took my money for the order. She goes into the kitchen & the cook also said they didn't have any orders but then checks the warmer and my order was there. The girl then brings it me and underhandedly gives me the bag instead of across the table. A Good customer service person would place it on the table, and open it for the customer to make sure the customer sees what's in the bag to make sure the order was correct. Yet I had to open it up and see that all of the order wasn't there. When I confront the girl, she goes back to the kitchen and it seems the cook doesn't agree that I didn't have everything I ordered. There was No Mac N cheese in the bag, only two small cups of green beans that, mind you, the juice was spilling everywhere IN the bag!! Strike 2 or 3!! Definitely is the reason for this 1 star review. Idk where they got the container of Mac n cheese, but one was handed to me. When I go to taste the meal, the Mac and cheese tastes very weird and the smell reminded me of key lime pie. Not the taste you want from your Mac n cheese. It smelled of lime and sweetness...is this how it always tastes/smells or was my order tampered with?? Please get back to me. I feel very let down and not wanting to spend my money at this location ever again sadly. The experience had me feel like I didn't get my money's worth and I didn't get the experience that these other reviewers seem to have gotten,...
