I love the way the place looks. Very modern. The staff is extremely friendly as well. Excellent drinks. Best Old Fashioned I've had in a long time!
Now, on that note, everything else about this place has been disappointing. I've been here 4 different times, and each time something has gone wrong. The biggest issue is the wait times. I get that a Friday or Saturday night, you're going to be waiting a while. Absolutely expect that. However, there seems to be no communication with the staff whatsoever. Last time we were here, we were seated almost immediately and told our server would be right with us. Great, we thought! Said server proceeded to walk by our table multiple times, help other tables in his section that had been seated after us, and after almost 20 minutes, proceeds to ask, "oh....have you not been helped?" I'm not sure if that was an error on the part of the Host or what, but a quick drink order shouldn't be such a problem. Also, the bartender was so unorganized that he missed our drinks completely. And I couldn't believe they only had one bartender on a Saturday night. That's ridiculous. Anyway, we finally (after almost a half an hour) got our drinks, and they were delicious! The food is...fine. I've never left there thinking that was the best meal I've ever had or anything. Just..fine. The portions are somewhat small for the price you pay.
Also, just get regular ketchup. I'm not sure why you won't. But this is Northeast Nebraska. You serve fries. Just get regular ketchup already. Trust me, people bring that up when talking about the place. Lastly, I know it's optional, but we are still fighting a pandemic. The staff needs to be wearing masks. Especially if everyone is going to be crammed together with little space...
Read moreDrove to Norfolk to meet a girlfriend for lunch. Seeing my girlfriend is always worth the drive, and 411 Restaurant provided the perfect rendezvous for our visit. Walking in the restaurant was a treat for the senses. A chic atmosphere with a comfortable welcome, I found myself looking around the restaurant and loving the walk to our table - there were seating areas around the corner of the main area as we were guided to our table that were interesting in decor. We were seated close to the front where an outdoor seating area was located. The outdoor area was adorned with hanging boston ferns that made the area almost ethereal with the filtered sunlight. Once we were seated, we were caringly taken care of during our entire stay. The staff engaged in conversation, sharing history of the restaurant, taking us on a tour of the menu (there is something for everyone) and being there at just the right moments when we needed a refill of our drinks, checking on our meal or seeing if we needed anything in addition to a very satisfying meal. My friend ordered the burrito which came with servings of Spanish rice and a bean & cheese blend that really looked delicious. She enjoyed her selection. I chose the steak and potato salad. It was such a delight to have a small steak, cooked to perfection, served aside roasted fingerling potatoes and a salad with a perfect dressing....a vinaigrette that was a touch sweet, yet calmed by the playful tang of the vinegar and spice base. The trio was perfect. We were both so full, we had to pass on dessert. I am looking forward to my next visit to Norfolk....I will be certain we are there for lunch or dinner and will make 411 Restaurant a must stop for another dining experience! What a...
Read moreWhen we walked in we really loved the ambiance, but the first thing we noticed when sitting down was all of the flower vases on the tables had mold growing inside. Wrong on so many levels that I shouldn’t have to explain. Wait staff was fine, not welcoming but also not rude. We walked in and were sat at about 8:15, ordered food around 8:25 (waitress took quite some time to come back around after taking our drink orders), and we were not served until 9:15. We watched as some of our food sat on the hand off plane for upwards of 10 minutes, all of it came out at different times, and our fries were cold and stale. We watched as one of the cooks came out from behind the line to talk to some people he seemed to know personally, leaving what looked like a single cook to finish orders. I’m sorry, but if you have customers still waiting on food, you can wait to talk with your friends, get the food out, especially when you have half an order just sitting on the counter. The service was incredibly disappointing, especially when the food was actually very good. What wasn’t cold was delicious, and we have ordered take out from here before and always enjoyed the food. But the service had no redeeming qualities, and I was disappointed in what seemed like a complete lack of respect for the people sitting...
