My personal experience with this place

Phew is there a lot to say from my experience at this place. If there is one word I could describe this my experience it would be this. Mediocre. The service was ok but it felt somewhat passive aggressive when I had certain concerns. I asked for my Torta with no tomatoes as I have a mild allergy condition towards them, nothing severe but I do start to develop mild rashes. Received my sandwich and it had tomatoes which I specifically told not to do so. I asked if I could have them be removed or even replaced for a new sandwich due to my condition and it felt like the server was very dismissive about my outcome. I just let them know I have an allergy towards them but I could feel like the server felt annoyed even though I asked from the beginning that my sandwich would not have tomatoes. If you have a server allergy condition, please be weary and strict about your allergies. You might or might not get some backlash over this if the server and the cook decide to ignore your allergy conditions. Now on to the sandwich itself. It honestly felt like there was so much missing, nothing like the photos in the menus display over this sandwich. All the meat was in the center (and not much meat at all to be honest). I felt like I paid 12$ for some bread and a side of meat. Was not good at all and I would not recommend the Torta for anyone who wants to try it out. Overall it was just such a defeated visit. At 630pm on a Tuesday night family of six. Sat for thirty minutes before the waitress came to get our drink order. Got our chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. Then waited forty minutes for our food. There was literally 4 tables that came got their drinks and food and left while we were patiently waiting. I went to the front counter to ask if there was a manager on duty l could talk to and the little chic I asked said no. Finally one of our individuals said something to our waitress and her response was of course "ya your food is on the way" Got it shortly after and everybody's food they ordered was cold. Come time to leave had to ask for our tickets. Went to the front counter and again asked to speak to a manager about our issues the lady asked what happened and I explained. She went to talk to someone in the bar area and came back to say she could take 20% off of our bill for what...

This was once one of my favorite places to go. Haven't been in a while but it has definitely changed. 1st the jalapeño margarita is not the same. It used to ne clear now it's like they put some kind of cream in it. Then the service, WOW! Our waiter was not very attentive nor did he seem to care for his job. Lastly the food when I'm paying for my family to eat you bring what we asked for. I understand mistakes are made but do not be cheap and try to adjust the same plate when you made the mistake. Specifically said no jalapeños on my food because I knew how many would be put on. Yet when my plate as well as my son's comes out boom an entire mountain of jalapeños. No remorse for them messing up yet I should pay according to them. Just another place in the great city of Norfolk to not return to. To bad. We'll just save our family and friends eat outs for...
