My wife, her best friend, and I went to their soft opening. First impressions of the establishment. INTIMATE! As soon as we walked into the establishment, we were greeted by such friendly hostess/waitress. To the left wall is the bar with counter. They had four beers on tap so I was able to get my Modelo. The wife and her best friend got some form of alcoholic drink which I do not know the name of, they both enjoyed it. It was toward the end of cocktail hour when we arrived, but we were able to enjoy some shrimp, cheese, and crackers while we waited for our table.
When it was our turn to be seated, we were escorted to the 2nd level (which overlooked the lower level if you were standing up or sitting next to the railing). The mix of brick and wall plaster made it feel authentic Norman architecture which was pretty cool. Being that it was a soft opening, we had the friday version of their menu. Our meals consisted of the following to include our reviews.
Potato Croquettes - Nice crunchy fried potato ball with custom sauce which included gochujung. PURE DELICIOUSNESS AND CRUNCHY!
Lobster Bisque - Delicious! would be paired great with bread!
Half dozen raw oyster - no explanation needed! It's oysters!
Crab cakes - Delicious! Crunchy outside, moist inside and cooked perfectly!
10oz Sirloin Steak (medium rare) - Cooked to perfection! Much better than how I cook steaks. Flavor is rich and NOT overpowering (in regards to the seasoning)
Beef Fat Fries - tastes like In and Out fries (love it!)
Bourbon Bread Pudding - crunchy ends, soft interior, with hint of orange. Combine with Chocolate Pot de Creme for an explosion on your taste buds!
Chocolate Pot de Creme - Sweet, and rich! Combine with Bourbon Bread Pudding for an explosion on your taste buds!
The co-owner (LeRhonda) is a sweetheart who ensured her customers and staff were well taken care of, and is a pleasure to conversate with!
We loved our experience at Juliette's and will DEFINITELY go back...
Read moreWe were visiting from out of town and checked out this newly opened establishment in the heart of downtown Norman. This steakhouse and oyster bar combines the best of both worlds: perfectly seared steaks and fresh, briny oysters that practically taste like the ocean. The ambiance is elegant yet warm and relaxed- wood and exposed brick with a mix of industrial accents and soft lighting. The steak options are solid- we had the ribeye and the NY strip which were both well-marbled and cooked to perfection over hardwood. The wood-fired oysters were rich and indulgent, and the raw oysters were fresh with just the right amount of brine. The pan-seared scallops were tender and perfectly seared. The sides we really enjoyed (broccolini and beef fat fries) were flavorful and well-proportioned. And don't forget the decadent desserts! We ordered all 3 selections they had that evening but really got into the Basque cheesecake. For a new opening, service is impressively smooth (attentive staff without being overbearing), the flavors confident and the attention to detail evident. Juliette is a gem for anyone who appreciates a great steak and fresh oysters in an atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed. Whether you're here for a date night, special celebration or just a casual evening with friends, this steakhouse and oyster bar is worth every penny. Will definitely return to this place when we are in...
Read moreWe wanted to love it and realize it was newly open but they are seriously over their heads and can’t command the prices they want with the service and lack of food and beverage quality that we experienced. Didn’t get initial drinks for 45 minutes. The expensive red Wine came out almost frozen. Steak was dry and not the correct temperature. We only got 6 of the 12 oysters we ordered. The bread literally came out burned. (Which we paid $12 for a couple os slices of bread and a little butter and a cut up radish). The chef came out and apologized acknowledging that the steak had “laid around too long due to how busy they were “. The manager was not managing the situations and we saw several tables who never got their food. Hopefully the managers will control the amount of people they try to serve for the next few weeks until they can give the service and food quality that they want to give. Unfortunately we won’t be back due to some of the comments the manager made making the situation much worse. We had compassion and understanding of the opening issues until we had the experience with the owner/manager. Also watch your bill. They put an automatic gratuity on our bill and we were only...
