FOOD POISONING about a year ago my daughter and I ate at Volcano. We came all the time. Close to my house so really convenient. My daughter had her usual salad, miso soup and vegetable rolls. I had sals, miso soup and shrimp rolls. Nothing raw. About 2 hrs I got home and started projectile vomiting. I was sick all night and next day. I went to emergency clinic and had IV and nausea med. Diagnosis verified. It really didn’t help. 2 days later I was severely dehydrated so my Dr called me into office and did IV again. I couldn’t shake it. 2 days later I am in Norman Emergency getting fluids, 2 bags, and meds for nausea through IV. I have never been so sick. We use to love this place. It’s been about a year and I could not go back for anything. Obviously someone didn’t wash their hands. We had nothing raw except salad. As I told minor emergency, my dr and ER dept at hospital I can never go back. Most expensive meal ever. Minor emergency visit over an hour. Dr office over and hour....

Best sushi place in Norman hands down possibly best in Oklahoma but haven’t tried any in OKC yet. Love how creative and unique their rolls are, never had a roll before with seaweed salad was delicious! Was disappointed with some other popular sushi places in Norman due to every other roll having cream cheese or jalapeños. I got the Godzilla and the kill bill, the kill bill is my new favorite roll. I also got two side salads in my to go order because typically side salads are small but was surprised when I had to save the second for the next day due to the large portion. My to go order was waiting for me when I arrived and they were very quick to help me with chopsticks and soy sauce already in the bag and got eel sauce and even asked how many I wanted when I asked. Only thing is is that they did put the two rolls in the same container (separated by the green divider) so if you are ordering for different people you may want to request...

I’ve been going to volcano sushi over the years and I can say management and staff have become a nuisance to my experience. We always go for half price Tuesdays as a family. As of late, the pin location has been very rude when taking our orders, not refilling our drinks, bringing us the wrong food, and having to wait long periods when we’ve already been seated. Recently I went to the location in Norman I ordered a Spiderman roll and a smoked salmon Hedrow. My Spiderman roll came out with five pieces of sushi. They told me it was because the pieces are cut wider. The pieces were cut razor thin, and they had two huge pieces of softshell crabs sticking out on each side that they could have continued making a roll with. The prices have gone up over the years, and the service is gotten worse. I don’t know if I’ll go back it’s a waste of money...

Sushi was great! High quality ingredients. Service is terrible. A little disappointed with how great the service and food is at other locations. I was expecting the same experience. They had a lot of 2 groups seated at family tables and booths. We came for a table of 5 and had to sit outside. Our waitress got our waters quick and after that. Wow. It took about 20-25min to see her again and order. We got here at 6:15. Didn’t get our food until 7:35pm. She kept forgetting about us, I’m pretty sure she forgot to put in our order. Half way through waiting, she stepped outside, saw us, eyes wide open, made a sound, and went back in. Other people who were seated after us got their food before us too. Not sure if I’ll be back to this location. I hope others have a better time!

Volcano Sushi has all the things a Japanese restaurant normally has, but there's one thing they have that I've found few places on the mainland, and that is delicious foods made of the best ingredients, and prepared to a turn. A hibachi/sushi combination is a tradition my family has enjoyed for years. Volcano did not disappoint. The tuna rose they brought to the table was rosy and smelled good, but tasyed better. The seagood hibavhi was full of plump, juicy, perfectly prepared shrimp and scallops, as well as carmelized veggies and rice. Our table was quiet as we began tasting our delicacies. I cannot recall a better combination of flavors, and the service was excellent. The food was complimented by some fruity saké and Sapporo, a Japanese beer. We'll be back!

This was the 1st time we went to this location and we were very happy that it is ran by the same people as the others we've come to love. The food is as fresh and tasty as we've become accustomed to. The service was friendly and swift. The decor of each location is different and pleasant, giving you a feeling that your someplace else unlike other multi establishment restaurants. Although each place looks different they all share the important things, great food, friendly and helpful staff, and a fantastic experience. If you've yet to try Volcano out pick a spot and give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
