My husband and i are absolutely stunned with the food from this cute little clean hidden jewel. We have tried all different food establishments in the area and each time came up short handed... well until today!
Lets start off with the cleanliness of the establishment along with the sweetest friendliest staff you could hope to come across... i would give 5 stars on customer service alone. Thank you friendly staff!! You are ALL AMAZING and you made my day.
FOOD: We ordered the chicken broccoli ziti and steak tip/ chicken kabob dinner.
CHICKEN BROCCOLI ZITI - Not only is this the real deal home made dish but the portion is enough for 2. The broccoli tastes fresh, the chicken grilled to perfection and the alfredo you can taste the perfected recipe and use of fresh garlic. Its melt in your mouth smooth buttery garlic heaven. (Comes with garlic bread that you can actually seeeee the fresh minced garlic cloves)
STEAK TIP/ CHICKEN KABOB DINNER - These perfectly cooked perfectly flavired high end steak tips are not your run of the mill stew meat... they are so soft they melt in your mouth and they bring out the summer bbq taste. The chicken is grilled and seasoned to perfection and its nice and soft. (You can actually SEE the grill marks) The rice is real.rice pilaf... not the white rice with seasoning. The steakhouse butter rice pilaf that pairs emaculately with the grilled steak and kabobs.... its like going to Hilltop back in the day!!!... (it came with a small.side salad that i didnt even see till i was so full i couldnt eat another bite. I was so overwhelled with how much food tjere was i didnt even see everything.) Id say this meal again could at least serve 2.
All and all this was a refreshing experience. I wish more places could have the customer service and the quality this restaurant has. Thank...
Read moreUpdate: I changed the review from 1 star to 5 stars since they have new management and my situation happened a few years ago. Thus, it is only appropriate to give different management the benefit of the doubt.
I wasn’t planning on leaving this comment, but I was looking for food to eat and saw this came up on the search. It reminded when I was in college I was looking for a job and the manager (who might have also been the owner) called me for an interview. He interviewed me from behind the counter as if he was taking my order and didn’t bother to sit down with me. He asked about my work experience in a restaurant and then asked me where I live and when I mentioned I lived in Lawrence he didn’t want to continue talking to me. I looked at the other employees as I was shocked that living in Lawrence would make me unqualified to wash dishes. The other employees just stayed silent as if they were afraid to speak up. I’m not accusing the owner or manager of anything wrong as I cannot read his mind or intentions, but things like this make you feel like racism...
Read moreMy boyfriend has known this place for a few years and he introduced me to the food here last year (2021) and it was amazing AT FIRST. After eating there for a couple months last year, one day my boyfriend and I started to feel ill, our stomachs were upset, and we had the runs after having Veal Cutlets. My bf suspected the cook who just came out of the bathroom after we order our food, made our veal cutlets and did not properly wash his hands. My bf and I decided to take a break there for a very long time and decided to come back in February 2022. When we went, there was different staff and once again, we had veal cutlets and it was great for awhile UNTIL yesterday. I had severe stomach cramps and I had to take tums to relieve the pain. My boyfriend was also experiencing similar symptoms. Me and him still feel ehh. Overall, if you don’t want food poisoning, DO NOT GO HERE.
P.S I ordered curly fries one time and found a metal/ aluminum...
