Bubba frye's Wings & Things — Restaurant in North Berwick

So not having gone to this place before I decided to take a chance and figured my safest bet was chili cheese fries which I have heard some decent comments on . Unfortunately I was sorely disappointed in what I received. I ordered online and was quoted 20 minutes - I went inside and the place was dead minus a kid sitting on the floor playing video games - ok cute obviously a family type business. I arrived in 25 minutes . So 1st strike is I waited an additional 5 for something that I know does not take 30 minutes to make and I’m ok with that to an extent as the people were not exactly friendly , didn’t explain why a large chili cheese fries took 30 minutes to make with a place that looks deader than the Mohave desert. I was actually not offered any explanation and was immediately dismissed and left to guess because I had zero communication after “what’s the name, ok” and the woman asking the kitchen.. part of me wonders if this had anything to do with me seeing it as pointless to give a tip to a 10$ large chili cheese fries - which I have heard through the local grapevine many places providing subpar customer service even for a walk in take out order. Now here comes the fun part - large chili cheese fries I was handed a brown bag with handles and no “have a nice night “ or anything remotely. She handed me the bag and walked off. I get home and decide to check out what I received . Now I will give them this , for fries a large order I did not expect a brown paper bag full of fries and yes it’s definitely a huge portion of fries . The cheese ? Maybe 1/4 cup of cheese for a large definitely dissatisfied and I’m probably being generous being as it was contained in a sauce container . The chili? Not even remotely a cup of chili . Considering the amount of fries in this was disgustingly dissapointing . I could take a 1/4 of the fries and maybe have a decent looking “side”(I confess this was going to be my dinner and figured it would be ok and possibly have extra left over ) the rest of the fries will go unused because I don’t feel like buying more chili or cheese to actually make this portion consistent with what I would get at a more reputable place. I am thoroughly glad I decided not to get anything else based off of reviews I saw online and be so amazingly dissapointed . In short what I did end up with that is edible would cost me half the price anywhere else with better customer service and product quality. Beware or be prepared when you receive your food here , for it to be late, not be acknowledged on any capacity and to receive food that is maybe edible to a 2yr old who doesn’t care if her cheese is hard and dry as a rock and not meltable , and chili that tastes like 3 day...

I’ve driven by this place a million times and never stopped in ... today was the day.

Okay - When ordering burgers, fries etc. there is an expectation that they will be greasy. BUT greasy is an understatement in regards to their French Fries. Although the portion was huge for a small I could barely eat them because all I could taste was the oil and the fries were saturated...not crispy not soggy just oil filled strips of potatoes.

The burger was sloppy, but I ordered one with a cheese sauce so I can’t say too much about that, I take responsibility for my poor choices. The cheese sauce was very salty and definitely came from a can and was in abundance amongst a ton of grilled onions, which were ok. I ended up eating the burger with a knife and fork and it became clear why they smother everything in something ... burger was pretty tasteless and had that weird “pressed” - falling apart but not look to it, yet was surprisingly cooked well. Their bun choice also does not hold up well to the burgers they serve AND they pack things in styrofoam!! (Personal pet peeve ... it’s so unnecessary)

When all is said I’m done I knew what I was getting myself into ... greasy burger and fries, but a greasy burger and fries can and should be comforting, unfortunately this didn’t quite hit the mark.

Mediocre, passable but I wont go out of my way to order here again and if I do I will probably try their wings next in hopes to give them a better rating ... and definitely will not be...

Had been a long time customer here, never had any problems food was always great and always hot! My wife and I have a 3 yr old so we go by his schedule. As most parents do, we called in take out around 6pm waited an hour for the food everything was ice cold. The mozzarella sticks tasted freezer burnt or old plus ice cold, meatball sub looked like the meatballs were old and or reused, my wife’s chicken sandwich ice cold. And our fries were ice cold. So I called to say something spoke with the manager her only solution to this was wrap up all the food they’d send a driver back to pick it up while we waited another 45 mins for our food! Wasn’t trying to get a refund maybe a partial credit for next time as we had to warm up all of our food in the oven. And waiting for another 45 mins wasn’t an option for us as our son would be getting ready for bed. And anyone coming to our house would set our dog off and wake him up. And working in the food industry myself after calling and goin go back and forth with the so called Manager was getting no where. Very unfortunate they have lost a long time customer. Not to mention all of this came to $57 and got a few bites and...
