FAAN. — Restaurant in North Carolina

We have been going to Faan for six years. Many of my family and neighbors go after I told them the food was good. But after ordering three meals in two weeks something has changed. Has anybody else noticed it? I ordered their sesame chicken a few weeks ago it was so dry I couldn't eat but three pieces. The fried rice and egg roll was good. We ordered pork lo Mein and the pork was dry and over cooked and the noodles were cold. Tonight we got sweet and sour delight and again the chicken and pork was overcooked and dry. Thank goodness the egg rolls have been good or I would be starving. I have loved this place for years but now I might have to go some place else. Please stop reheating old meals. I know this is going on because someone I know ordered a meal and had a accident in route. He went by several hours later to pay and was told not to worry they could give the meal to...

This family-owned restaurant turns out some EXCELLENT product! This is a situation where, clearly, Chef Jack (his American name) is used to working with fresh foods. And his wife's egg rolls are superior to ANY that you'll find in ANY Chinese-American eatery. For many years, the best egg rolls I ever had were cooked by Chao Li at the Golden Palace in Greensboro (late 1980s), but those fried-up here have become my new standard. OUTSTANDING! And the General Tso's chicken ... beef lo mein ... moo goo gai pan ... WOW!

The GREAT majority of FAAN's business is take-out, but they do have a modest dining room. Don't be fooled by the spartan furnishings -- the food is EXCELLENT! You'll be QUITE pleased! Usually closed on Mondays, otherwise, open every day of the year, including Christmas. Excellently-priced lunch specials ... BOUNTIFUL portions...

My wife and I went for the first time and loved it. Food was amazing, portions are huge, the place is spotlessly clean, and the staff are the nicest people you could ever ask for. We ordered combo plates, which come with your meat, pork fried rice, and egg roll. The food was in a quality plastic, resealable container and absolutely packed.my plate was 2/3 boneless spare ribs and 1/3 of fresh, delicious fried rice. The meat was super fresh and tender, marinated in a great sauce that paired perfectly with the fried rice. Could not possibly ask for a better...
