i gave this place a custom birthday cake order for 2 separate cakes a football cake and a foot ball helmet at which time my wife presented the photos of both the cakes we wanted made and we were very explicit in how we wanted the the helmet to look and how we wanted the football to look. she never mentioned to us that she had never made this kind of luxury cake that was requested, my wife attempted to follow up to make sure she was going to be able to execute this order. never once did she call us and tell us she was not able to complete the cake the way we wanted it because of the servings needed. upon pick up of the cakes she delivered nothing of what we requested the cake to look like. she delivered a bad attempt at something she never did before. the cakes came out horrible they were nothing of what we ordered. she gladly accepted $602.00 for 2 cakes that look like the were executed by an amateur. needless to say the wow factor we were looking for became the laughing stock of the party. i would never order a custom cake from this establishment. they will take your money and not execute flawlessly. i should have got every dollar i spent back for what she delivered. i will let my photos speak for themselves. what we presented to her to create and what she presented us in return. She may be a queen of cupcakes but should never take a custom cake order again. there was plastic straws and cardboard built into my cake to hold it together. this place is a joke. A FULL REFUND SHOULD BE GIVEN IF THIS ESTABLISHMENT HAD ANY HONOR FOR NEVER DOING A CAKE LIKE THIS AND PRETENDING THEY COULD. BUYERS BEWARE OF THE MONEY GRABBERS!! THE CAKE WAS HORRIBLE . I really want to support local business, but I really can't support this one. While offering a bunch of diverse flavors on a rotating schedule and some unique creations from time to time, the inclusion of generic flavors such as Red Velvet and Plain Jane are just silly. Why would I come to a boutique cupcake shop to get the same flavors I can easily buy a cake mix for?

In any case, I sampled a few different things and had sticker shock at checkout. The prices there are in my opinion outrageous. I forget the exact amount I paid and for what, but there is quite amount of disparity between what went in the till versus what came out of the case. While I understand that this shop is in a prime location in downtown Waxhaw, surely there are ways to cut costs.

As for the product itself... its small and uninspired. The cupcakes are the same size you would make with a standard tin at home and not much bigger. As for the flavors... they lack the UMPH you think they would have. The way it looks in the case does not translate that well to the way it tastes... if that makes any sense. I also tried the eclair which was too dense and soggy and lacked flavor.

Would not recommend paying for custom orders at this bakery. Payed $160.00 for 50 cake pops for my daughters grad party. I knew it was pricey, but for a nice presentation I figured it was worth it for our special event. Cake pops were handed to us in a paper bag with a plastic bag around it, like you would get ordering Chinese take out food. The cake pops were all different sizes and most of the pops at the bottom were cracked with many of them having an oily substance at the bottom of them. It was not at all how we wanted our cake table presentation to look, and we quite honestly could have just made the same looking cake pops at home for a fraction of the price. I will give 2 stars because the inside of the cake pop did taste good, and they were nicely individually wrapped. I rarely leave reviews but was so disappointed by the product we received for the amount of money we payed. I contacted the shop to let them know before leaving this review, and did not receive...
