Sweet Cherry Bakery — Restaurant in Troy

I have never been the type to complain, but my experience with Sweet Cherry Bakery started out great but finished on a bad note. Needed a certain cake for my reception and cookies to give out as party favors. I do not live in Apex so I knew a full delivery was impossible. So we came to an agreement to meet at a halfway point to make it more convenient. A time was agreed upon 2 days prior to the date of the ceremony. LITERALLY, as I was getting in my car to leave the morning of the ceremony, I received a text from an entirely different person (not the individual to whom I had been dealing with throughout the ordering and paying process). She informed me there had been a family emergency and that my cake and cookies would not be delivered on time, which was 9:00 a.m. but instead at 1:00 p.m. which later was moved to 12:00 p.m. I understand these type of things happen from time to time, but I really think other arrangements should have been made to keep everything on schedule for such a special day. So needless to say this set a terrible tone for the rest of the day and put everything else behind. Not a good start for such an important day. My husband and I were both stressed to the max and I ended up with a migraine worrying about how I was going to get the cake and cookies to the reception venue and take wedding photos too, being that the pictures were suppose to be taken at the same time the cake was to be delivered, which was not the agreed upon time! By far the best specialty cake place in the area. I wanted to order my daughter’s birthday cake from here last year but unfortunately I didn’t plan ahead in enough time and settled for Artylicious Cakes in Raleigh. Comparing the 2, there was only one category that Sweet Cherry falls short and that’s the simple fact it’s located in Apex versus Raleigh which is only relevant to me based on where I live.

The decoration was phenomenal and perfect without any store bought figurines like I received from Artylicious Cakes.

The flavor for Sweet Cherry was superior as well and they offer fruit fillings as well where Artylicious Cakes does not. Even their fondant is tastier than most fondants which goes a long way for the adults or even the kids who like the eat the molded fondant figurines like mine.

The customer service was where I would say they stood out the most as they were friendly, responsive, and professional. They took responsibility in confirming the order with me including all of the decorative and flavor details so that no miscommunications were made regardless of how busy the bakery was or if I was unclear with what I wanted.

I have reached out to the bakery for a 40th celebration on March 11th, the communication was seamless, I have placed an order for multiple treats that would be my sweets table at the venue. They have given me a time of pickup and told me they would send over an invoice. After 2 days, I've reached out to get the invoice and confirm the order, I have not heard anything back. I have emailed throughout the days and have called, even had family and friends call (with no prevail). No one answers the phone, I have left voicemails, no one has returned my VM or emails. Needless to say, I was left without my order (which was my entire sweets for my party), I could not find another bakery to fulfill my order in short notice, I was stuck with what I had.
