DeSano Pizza Bakery — Restaurant in North Charleston

I have never dealt with a more ignorant, obnoxious person than I have here, and I'm from New Jersey! After reviewing the several options they had for specialty pies, I opted to go with something called a marinara pizza. It then listed a variety of items that you could add to the pizza. I asked for sausage and mozzarella cheese. She told me then you want the margarita pie. I said no I do not want the margarita pie because it had ingredients on it that I did not want. I wanted the marinara pie with sausage and mozzarella. And then she rudely stated that the marinara pie does not come with cheese. So then I looked at her and I said okay so I can add sausage but I cannot add mozzarella? She then again said you want the margarita pie. I again told her I did not want that margarita pie because I did not like what was on it. I politely asked for mozzarella on a marinara, and she said no it does not come with cheese. So I told her no problem then I will go to Burger King. She said within you do that sir and have a very nice day. I have never heard of not being able to get a pizza with cheese on it. Especially when I could have added just about anything else on the menu to that pie. It's a shame they have you locked in at an airport location where you really have no choice. Short story long:

Ordered my overpriced pizza and after 15 minutes of nothing I went up to ask if I had missed when they called my name (mind you there was no line when I walked up to order). I was asked to verify my name and told “just a few more mins” so I asked a few like 5 or like 10? Staff told me 5. Okay, understandable. 8 minutes later I’m called up again expecting my pizza. Instead they inform me that they don’t have one of the ingredients so I said okay I’ll take it as is. I then learn that it hasn’t been started at all — feels like something I could’ve been told when I asked the first time. I was offered a refund or to have it prepared minus one ingredient; did not take a refund bc I’m in an airport with literally places to go.

Bruh this bread is not edible. All it takes is clean tools to avoid this disaster. Grabbed a fork to at least eat the veggies...

I seriously cannot recommend this place highly enough. We came in on a weather detour and a single guy made about 150 orders for our aircraft well after closing. He was happy, polite and very accommodating even though we used nearly ever last ingredient. The lady waiting the bar kept us all very entertained and with a fresh drink in our hands. She handle the customers with poise and grace and was more than accommodating!!! The only complaint I have is that Charleston had every other food vendor closed by 5pm on a Saturday when they still had airlines with flights coming and going. Shame on them for leaving this two man crew completely hanging.
