Harvest & Grounds Coffee & Bakery — Restaurant in North Charleston

The employee at this establishment showed up at 4:55 AM, glanced at the few of us standing in line, and bluntly stated they don’t open for another five minutes before walking away. She finally returned at 5:10 AM, now with more than six people standing in line behind me, only to proceed with leisurely sorting the cash in the register and cleaning the counters, completely ignoring the waiting customers. During this rude behavior, we even witnessed a cockroach crawling across the countertop, prompting everyone to leave in disgust. Out of sheer curiosity, I stayed to see how long she would continue this charade.

Eventually, I asked if she was going to help us or if I needed to find another coffee place because I had a flight to catch. She snapped back, saying she would help us when she was done setting up, her tone dripping with disdain. She wasted another 10 minutes before grudgingly serving us, all the while maintaining a hostile attitude. It seemed she was deliberately wasting time, knowing that customers with impending flights couldn't wait long.

Judging by other reviews, this pattern of behavior appears to be a regular occurrence at this establishment. Why is this person working in a coffee shop if she despises making coffee and interacting with people? Shame on you, Harvest Grounds Coffee & Bakery, for subjecting your customers to such appalling service. We don’t appreciate being held hostage by your insubordinate employees when we have flights to catch. Your lack of care for your customers' time and satisfaction is disgraceful.

I threw my coffee in the trash and went to Dunkin’ Donuts. They have much better coffee. I would recommend closing Harvest Grounds Coffee & Bakery to allow for a new establishment to set up a coffee business interested in serving the...

Whatever that thing is that is working in there today 2/7/22 @ 12:15pm is an absolutely terrible representation for your business. Sitting down and can’t be bothered to get up when a customer walks in until the customer is ready for an order. Then when I ordered 2 coffees, it only made one and got irritated when I asked where my other one was. When it was time to lay, was extremely rude about telling me to use the machine and indicate a tip amount! Are you kidding me it thinks a tip is warranted?!?! No tip was given. I’m a greeter welcoming people to Charleston and I’m completely embarrassed this is the type of local our visitors get to experience. Don’t be so woke you don’t reprimand this employee. I will tell people to go to gift shop for cold coffee and never set foot...

Rest of my family went to Burger King but I wanted “better” food so stopped by this place on 8/3. Service was fine .. only one person in line before me when I got there. Got the pre-made turkey club which was sub par but was in a hurry. Expected sourdough bread to be tastier but it was on the side of going stale and it was falling apart a bit. Not much turkey and bacon was undercooked. I wanted to order a piece of cake but saw a gnat flying in the icing, so changed my mind and got a large chocolate chip cookie which was fresh and tasty.
