Nasty rude attitudes. I guess they don’t want any new customers. A colleague reminded me of this place as I always tell her about Caribbean delight down the street. Decided to give it a go since Caribbean delight was out of what I wanted. I walk in, was not greeted. Am standing st the counter and the statue behind the counter is actually looking me straight in the eyes and doesn’t say a word. FINALLY since his mouth must have been broken I said hello. He mumbles hello. I ask how are you. He mumbles fine. I look at the menu. They have what I wanted but there is NO way I’m spending my hard money at a place whose employees clearly don’t want my business and clearly doesn’t even have the most minimal of manners.

Skip this place. Go down the street to Caribbean delight. They will, including the owners, at least smile at you and thank you for your business.

SKIP THIS PLACE if you care about customer service. If you don’t care, don’t be surprised that you don’t feel welcome...

My first time going there and will never go there again… the cashier was very rude she said something to us and walked in the kitchen and never came back for me to ask her what she said the music was a lil loud and we didn’t hear her and another young lady came out and I was going to ask her what the other young lady said and she went into the kitchen and neither one came out so we left … that was very rude and not very businesslike…. I am a server and I deal with the public everyday and I would never treat my customers like that young lady treated us so we went a lil farther down to caribbean delight and got way better service and probably better food… sorry but obviously they don’t think you need the business…. Would have loved to try your food but not going to happen… I feel I was disrespected and I’m over it but just wanted to let someone know how badly we were treated… thank you and have a...

I ordered my food online at 5:15pm yesterday and received a message that it would be ready at 5:35pm. Well it wasn’t, and a gentleman walked in and ordered 3 trays of food and still received his food before me and I only had one tray of jerk chicken. I received my food about 6;20pm. The restaurant was not busy at all. No customers there except the one guy and myself. I work too hard for my money and we’re in a recession. Everyone is seeing inflated prices everywhere and I refuse to continue to patronize any establishment that doesn’t appreciate it. Businesses forget about the days when they first opened and wanted people to spend their money with them. Then they get complacent once business picks up and totally disregard how they make their money to pay their own bills. I will NEVER return to the Jamaican Grill in...

I've noticed something similar about all Jamaican Restaurants I've visited in the US...All the cashiers have nasty attitudes and they don't give any type of discounts. Jamaican Grill isn't any different... First off the location is definitely on the rundown side of town. There was not a diverse crowd of customers. I ordered the small oxtail plate with a beef meat pie(a little soggy in the middle). Food was overly seasoned. The cashier had a bad attitude, when I asked her what would she recommend. Apparently it must be a shortage on plantains, because only 1 slice comes with a small plate. To say I spent almost $30 for this food, I'll pass on this place. I pay less in Killeen,TX for much better service, less bad attitude, and more food. They are not having a shortage of plantains over there.

This place is busy, lots of people coming in to order. There is place to sit and eat. Bathrooms are clean. We were a party of 4 people. We ordered 4 different plates plus an order of Jamaican beef patty and large macaroni and cheese. Curry Goat, was not over spicy, but flavorful, tender with lots of very little bones. Brown stew chicken, was fall of the bone tender.Lots of sauce. Be careful, lots of small bones. Oxtail was different, there were three little oxtails, and a couple other cuts of meat with lovely flavor. Jerk chicken was flavorful with VERY sharp bones. The four orders had a large amount of rice, some cabbage stir fry and a slice of plantain.

The oxtails were excellent, and the curry and jerk chicken dinners are delicious as well. The service was exceptional and quick. The restaurant can probably seat about twenty customers at a time, but I’ve never seen more than a handful of customers actually dining in during the times I’ve visited the restaurant. They also serve a variety of drinks that are familiar in Caribbean restaurants, including one of my favorites, kola champagne soda.
