Shocking Lack of Respect from Holly - A Loyal Customer Left Feeling Insulted
My recent visit to Paradiso was incredibly disappointing and frankly, insulting, due to the shockingly rude and dismissive behavior of the owner, Holly and how she treated my Mother and I. My Mother was in town visiting for Mother’s Day and we visited the pool club for the day on Resort Pass. (I was a former full-time member for years but started to travel a lot for work) Over the years, I've spent a significant amount of money here and have always supported this establishment and recommended it to others. To be treated with such disrespect after being a loyal patron is truly disheartening.
It's baffling that someone in the hospitality industry, particularly in a city as connected as Charleston, would conduct themselves in such a manner. Customer service seems to be a foreign concept. Guests, especially those who have shown consistent support, should be made to feel welcome and valued, even if they book a day pass verses being a full-time member. I live in the neighborhood and have visited the club recently for members birthday parties or gatherings. Insinuating that I don’t have class and would sneak in is quite disappointing. This recent encounter has completely soured my opinion of this pool club. Despite my past loyalty, I can no longer in good conscience recommend this establishment to others or continue to market it through word-of-mouth. Word travels fast in Charleston, and I sincerely hope Holly takes some time to understand the importance of treating all guests, especially long-time supporters, with basic respect. Her husband on the other hand has always been a delight. Unfortunately, based on this deeply negative experience, and lack of respect shown to my mother and I, I can no longer...
Read moreThe towel attendant at this club refused to serve me and my children as African Americans. He escalated to the point of using a racial slur towards me and my family and a disable 22month old baby. I happen to live in the neighborhood and sent numerous emails as well as the comcerned community members . Mixson Club refuses to reply or publically apologize for their employees behaviour. Instead they gave me a refund, as they were not willingly to agree to diversity training and role playing customer service, for our entire community to benefit from. I was not willing to pay for such horrible service. They refuse to take accountability for their employee actions. The mangement is rude and have no issue with disscussing your personal business with staff or other members they choose worthy. Mixson club tolerates hate! My children have an imprint of the club in their neighborhood that refused to serve them and now protect them from further trauma. I was a member for 2months The refund does not nearly cover the harm done to my family. If you are looking for a place that supports the view that African Americans are not worthy of service, Mixson Club is the...
Read moreWe live in the neighborhood and have been members of the club for a long time. By far, the transformation of Paradiso has been amazing! The food is consistently delicious, the drinks are cold and refreshing, and the service is always great. We recently rented a cabana after our son's high school graduation. To have everything brilliantly catered, plus towels, a place for all our guests to relax after graduation, and to have NO clean up after the party was just an absolute treat for us! Definitely the way to go for parties or any events!! Our party had ages from 3-83 and everyone's needs were met. All our guests commented on the quality of the food and services. The sliders and fries were everyone's favorite and the amount of food we got was A LOT, so we were super impressed. Our family continued to talk about this experience for weeks!! We will definitely be renting a cabana again. I can't say enough great things...
