Been to this location twice. My honest review. Food quality is good but portions are smaller for price. Service could use improvement. Location can be deceiving being an old fast food chain location.

The most important, food is good. They have some more unique sushi like Uni and sweet shrimp. Food was fresh each time. Portions were smaller for the price, but thought the trade off was worth the taste, freshness, and quality.

Location was an old fast food restaurant, but remodeled to be a sit down Japanese place. It’s updated and clean overall. There seems to be a fly problem, experienced flies at our table both times (if this bothers you, obviously I went back again).

Service was great the first time. Our main server was a middle aged Asian male. Friendly, prompt, and attentive.

Service was below average second time. Younger Asian woman served us. Brought our entrees first, then our first appetizer 5 minutes later (we ordered 3), with our last app of tuna tataki coming after we’re about done eating 20 minutes after our entrees. She initially put down a beef tataki (saying tuna tataki), we had to tell her it was beef after looking at it. She quickly fixed it. Take in mind I could see our food sitting at the food station, often for lengths of time. We thought about desert, but we felt rushed by her at that point (I’ll spare you the details). This won’t stop me from going back, but I’ll certainly request...

I wanted something quick for Lunch so I decided to try them out since I read Most of the reviews I decided to head on down… I order the Teriyaki chicken hibachi without mushrooms and the tempura shrimp. Got to my car opened my box and Ugghh chicken was dry and lacking flavor so I proceeded to the window to ask for Teriyaki sauce to add to the chicken as I’m waiting on my sauce I decided to taste the tempura shrimp and it was soggy. It didn’t have a tempura crust. It looked like it was fried with Panko breadcrumbs. As the employee finally came with mg sauce I told him I Didn’t want the shrimp and I wanted to refund so he asked me if I wanted to try something else so I told him the crab Rangoon’s so he took the tempura and refried it…it was so dark. I’m looking at him like why would you give me this.. I told you I wanted the Rangoons.. I told him to just give me my money back. I’ve already been waiting for awhile. He gave me $5 and the crab Rangoons which is basically ALL cream cheese…No imitation crab flavor AT!!! Yum Yum sauce is basic and the actual meal I’ll give them a 1.5/5 will not be a...

I drive by this restaurant everyday and didn’t realize that it is in fact a very legit sushi restaurant. The menu is extensive. I didn’t know what to expect really so I “just” ordered a bento box. The filet was delicious, very well cooked. I only had a California roll. Next time, I will definitely order some of their specialty rolls. The staff is genuinely attentive and friendly. This restaurant used to be a Hardee’s, so I was expecting perhaps something more like a Panda Express. Far from it. Perhaps not as cosy as Wasabi in DI or MP, but otherwise, it might be better on every other aspect. Wish I had better/more...

Good first experience. We were greeted with an enthusiastic "Konnichiwa!" by multiple smiling staff members as we walked in. Took about 15 minutes for the food to arrive. The Super Bowl (Hibachi Rice Bowl with Shrimp, Chicken and NY Strip Steak) was yummy. It felt a tad bit underwhelming with seasoning, but a splash of soy sauce with a healthy amount of yum yum sauce and a little bit of sriracha sauce did the trick. Decent portion size. Looking forward to trying the Bento Box next time. Not sure if they have a separate lunch menu. We'll definitely be back. Glad to have an option like this on Clements Ferry Rd.

Awesome addition to the options in the Cainhoy/Clements ferry area. We just spent three weeks in Japan and the sushi was just as good. The only recommendation I would offer is that they use sticky rice for the bowls and hibachi dishes. Sticky rice is more authentic to Japan cuisine and is available at all meals (bfast/lunch/dinner). Please keep up the great job and congratulations on a great restaurant!
