Should consider changing the name to "Ye Ole Disappointment".
Important note, we went on a Monday afternoon (not busy). Let's start with how dingy the restaurant was on the inside. Tables were gross and the restrooms. FILTHY. The one that was actually "operational" smelled worse than a portable toilet and didn't have a working sink. If you're going to offer inside seating during this pandemic, might want to have a clean restroom with you know, a sink to wash your hands.
Customer service was laughable. We stood at the counter waiting to order for what felt like an eternity. One lady kept walking by us at the counter, no acknowledgment, no smile, no nothing. There was another man standing behind the counter, not 10 feet away, chatting away with someone. No acknowledgment either. You'd think customer service would be the number one priority during these times, but nope.
While we waited for food, a lady went over to make an ice cream for someone and was horrified to watch her lift her shirt, put her hands under the shirt to pull up her pants. Did she go wash her hands after? Nope. Did she wear a pair of gloves? Nope. She went right in with that scooper. Feel bad for that customer.
Food arrived. Bland and boring. Onion rings were soggy. Chili fries were half decent.
I could forgive the mediocre food and honestly probably wouldn't have been bothered to write a review. But the rest of it. Unacceptable. Waste of time and...
Read moreSeptember 4, 2021 at approximately 1401 hours arrived 6554 Rivers Avenue Suite A location. Entered and approached counter. Clerk had to be told by other emotee that I was standing two feet in front of him. Had and easy order "Chili cheese hot dog as a meal and an extra large fry and water." Charged for just the hot dog and a large fry. Received water cup. There was no one else in the business when I walked in, just employees.
Asked if I wanted everything on my hotdog. What else is on a chili cheese hotdog? Confirmed that I wanted chili and cheese on a hotdog.
20 minutes later, still waiting for a hot dog and large fry. Cook time on a dog is ten or less. Fries about the same.
No leadership on shift. Bunch of kids being kids. Two folks in window, sometimes three. A guy who ordered AFTER me got his larger order first. Like 4 minutes after me.
25 minutes still waiting.
At 30 minutes, the cook confirmed that I wanted just chili and cheese on my Chili Cheese Hotdog.
Used to be my favorite spot and best of the Ye Old Fashions. Now, won't come back.
At $8.48 for a hotdog and one fry, I could have bought the ingredients, gone home and made this meal quicker and cheaper.
I won't waste my time...
Read moreBeen there twice, and was disappointed both times. The lunch menu was limited, but I was there on a Friday, so I tried the grilled cheese. Fairly odd sandwich as it had cheese on both sides of a middle piece of bread. I got that the double decker sandwich is kind of their trademark but I suppose that works better when having some kind of sandwich with meat, but with grilled cheese it just doesn't work. Anyway I didn't want to hold that against them because it is an ice cream shop. So next time I got a root beer float. I figured that would be hard to mess up. Either my childhood memories of root beer floats were inflated or they somehow found a way to mess that up, too. It looked good but didn't live up to those looks. Maybe it was an off-brand root beer, and their ice cream just wasn't all that great. So, another place on the growing never-again list. The service also was an issue the first time I was there, but not the second - the girl who made the floats was attentive and friendly. But what she made just didn't...
