Baskin-Robbins — Restaurant in North Chicago

Two stars for them because my experience is serious! I've come here often & probably will again, however their carelessness needs to be addressed... While I personally am NOT a person with nut allergies, that allergy is more & more common every year. I typically order at Baskin a cappuccino blast made with JAMOCA ice cream NOT JAMOCA ALMOND FUDGE! This location has given me a cappuccino on at least 5 occasions with Jamoca ALMOND ice cream... a few times I've noticed before pulling off & had them remake it with my preference of plain Jamoca ice cream. And each time I had them remake it, I'd be told that they were out of the regular Jamoca I asked for, so basically they carelessly substituted with the Almond Fudge! That's very irresponsible, to take it upon yourself to substitute instead asking & informing the customer! Allergies are mild for some & LIFE THREATENING for others... this is no game & I really pray this never happens to someone who actually has a nut allergy... I'm thinking I should also make a call to the location personally before they're held liable for being too lazy to give customers what they are...

I went in to purchase an ice cream cake. Not a custom order, just looked at what they had in the freezer. I bought a chocolate cake with oreo ice cream. When i got home the cake smelled like it was freezer burnt. I tried to cut into it but it was rock solid. At this point i let it "thaw" for 30 minutes and came back to it still being rock solid. After multiple attempts i finally got a piece sliced and even the bread was completely hard. The icing tasted horrible. I called and took the cake back. They replaced the cake with one from the back that was "fresh". While there i asked how long they kept them in the freezer and was told they had no idea. Once i got home i was met with the same thing. A horrible tasting hard cake. I definitely will not be back to this store. I have purchased from Baskin Robbins stores in 4 different states and never...

I ordered a custom cake online a week ago and set it to be picked up at this location. My husband went to pick it up today with the order number and the guy at the counter just looked confused. He went in the back and picked up a random cake and handed it over. The box wasn’t even marked with what flavor of cake or ice cream.

I called to see if our real cake was there and the person on the phone also seemed confused and uncaring. He said they didn’t have any cakes that said “Happy Birthday” on them and then had nothing else to say when I asked about the order number. I asked if they did custom cakes as the Baskin-Robbins website indicated. He just kept repeating that they didn’t have any cakes with lettering on it.

So don’t bother to custom order a cake here unless you want whatever blank, stale mystery cake they have...
