We stopped here for Sunday lunch, I have no idea how this place has such a high rating. The staff was rude and we were overcharged. The waitress threw our bill on the table then left. My wife asked for a salad instead of the fries, she said not a problem. They charged us $4.00 for a side salad, which would have been fine had she notified us there was an upcharge. And if were paying full price for a side salad, she should still get the fries that come with here meal. When my wife asked about it while checking out, the woman very rudely said "It says right on the menu, no substitutions!" (which it didnt) when my wife asked to see that, she pointed to "All meals come with a potato", which we didn't get. Then she started talking to someone else and ignored my wife. When I asked if there was nothing that could be done, she opened her drawer and threw $3 on the counter and said "Here you go". I've never been treated this way in any business. We definitely will not return. If you get angry when we expose your scam, you don't deserve to be open. Stay away...
Read moreMy hubby went there and was meeting 2 others there. Him and his one friend arrived. There were a few booths open and a table or two. The tables only seat 2 people. When they went to get a table the female owner was rude and said that she couldn't seat them till all their party was there. Another lady walked in and wanted a booth for 3. The owner asked if all her party was there the female customer said no. She was told just like my husband was. When you are all here we will seat you. Then another in her party showed up and she went in and said I have my second person here. The owner said is the third person here she said no she told her she couldn't seat her till her entire party was there. Meanwhile my hubby still waiting. The owner told the female customer. If you knew how restaurants work you would know we can't seat you until the tables for 2 are filled. she is 100% wrong. It is first come first served unless you called in advance and tell them we have a party of 8. Because of this matter we will...
Read moreI don't think you will find a friendlier more attentive staff on this side of the Mason Dixon line. Whether you come in during peek hours or 30 mins before close on the weekend these wonderful ladies will greet you, seat you feed you, and let you know that you are unrushed and should take your time as you receive your bill. The venue is also very clear, which is something that should be noted for those skeptical to munch off the beaten path.
I've had 2 of the burgers, the Swiss and mushroom, the signature, and my favorite breakfast eggs with home fries and corn beef hash. I've also had the breakfast burrito and the cheese steak. I would order every item again. They get extra points for having marble rhye toast. Prices are great, and the food tastes like home. My only suggestion is that because I've tried the pancakes from folks who have come with me, I would add a pinch of almond or vanilla extract to the pancake mix to enhance the flavor.
