Aztec Grill & Grocery — Restaurant in North Haven

It's a been a few years since I last visited, but I still think about this place from time to time. Whenever I'd visit my friend in New Haven, we'd always come here to feast on tacos and other offerings like tortas. The tacos are great value: $8 for 4 tacos for most of the selections. Best of all, they have my favorite variety of taco: tacos de lengua. Granted that the tacos de lengua come at a bit of a premium compared to the other varieties, but I'm more than willing to pay the extra $2. The taco fillings were generous and the chips + pico de gallo + salsa verde that came with each order was fresh. I wish they also gave radishes with the taco orders, but that's a minor thing. I was really looking forward to trying out their food based on all the great reviews. My husband and I got the chicken burrito and it was ok. Also there wasn’t any guacamole with the burrito as the menu stated. Instead we were given a green spicy sauce..not sure if they ran out of guacamole or if it was a mistake. Don’t go here during your lunch break— regardless if it’s an hour or 30 minutes. This place takes such a long time to make the food because they only have two people working in the entire restaurant.
