Paradise Indian Grill — Restaurant in North Liberty

Responding to a previous review. I had just had emergency oral surgery and could only have soft food (and needed to take scripts with food). Amber checked and the pick up time was scheduled in a reasonable amount of time. Then I got the call that Paradise Indian Grill gave someone else the order and she had to wait another 40 minutes for them to remake the food! I get that things happen (not giving away someone else's order to another Amber, yeah right) but when she informed me how she was so rudely treated and NO discount was offered! And not only that! In this exact review the owner LIED and said he offered her a gift card at the restaurant and she refused it, another LIE as he said they do not have physical gift cards. Then in response to her review he said he would be sending her a gift card via email that she would receive shortly. To this date, Amber has not received this so called gift card. This is unacceptable behavior to lie to sway a poor review.

Your food was prepared before the time and placed outside for pickup when takeout customers come for pickup currently we don't ask them to show order confirmation with the trust we give to each and everyone. We just ask for name and handover the order. Your Order was hand overed to another person who said Amber. When you came to pickup then only we are realized and shocked for a second that your order was misplaced at that moment we clearly communicated to you the problem and we tried to call other customers those were picked up order 5 minutes earlier with hope they can confirm that order was picked up wrong but we haven't heard from anyone yet and we communicated that we will prepare your order ASAP. Even though we have our dining area full we have expedited your order and get it ready. During hand off you asked for FULL refund as we are local owned restaurant not like big corporates each dollar is so much valuable to us to server our local community. We have informed we will not issue full refund but we also offered a gift card later as we don't have physical cards yet but you refused it which leaves us with no option Just say NO to what you have asked us a FULL refund. Sorry for this from now onwards we will mandate our takeout guest show the confirmation then we handover the order to avoid such these things. Worst experience ever with Paradise Indian Grill takeout! I ordered $60 worth of food through their website. The pick up time was scheduled for 6:32pm. I showed up at 6:35pm to pick up my order and they proceeded to argue with me saying that someone already picked up my order. I told them no, nobody has picked up my order because I’m picking up my order. They continued to argue with me for about 5 minutes while I kept offering to show them my receipt which they refused to look at. Finally, the manager/owner came out to see what the problem was and I told him exactly what happened. He said he would go back and make the food, but nobody ever apologized at this moment. I sat at the bar for 40 minutes and while I sat there and patiently waited for my food order, finally 30 minutes in the manager/owner came out and said “two more minutes, I’m sorry” but it wasn’t even sincere. There was ZERO urgency to get my food remade either. The wait staff never offered me anything to even drink while I waited 40 minutes, not even water! FORTY minutes later the manager/owner came out with my food, and I asked if he was able to give me a refund or discount of some sort for this oversight by them and he said “No, I prepared your food and I’m not going to LOSE MONEY ON YOU” I was SHOCKED! He was so rude, and I asked about even a gift card and he said, “This isn’t my problem, and I will not lose money!” At this point I was so shocked I just took the food and left.

Finally got home with the food and in the chicken tikka masla and butter chicken there were literally 4 pieces of chicken in it! I figured after this mess they caused they would at least give us adequate portions of food, well that didn’t happen. I WOULD NOT SUPPORT THIS RESTURANT, they don’t care about customers.
