::The Bad:: We visited twice for the lunch buffet. What we learned the first time, was: don't get there after 1pm. They virtually refused to put new items on the line (which doesn't close until 2pm). A family of 7 walked in and they put out one SMALL cheese pizza. Didn't even feed their family, not to mention the 4 other tables of guests that were still sitting, eating. The sweet cinnamon bites were crusty and untouched. I tried one, it was so hard I spit it out. Plegh. Not a good testament to their amazing food items. I had to go ask the cashier if they were going to put more pizza out - he turned and asked the line cook, expressions were exchanged with a lack of gratitude or excitement for business that was hopping!... I walked away mid side-conversation. It was not my business how they handled it. A simple, "Absolutely! We don't close the buffet down til 2pm", would have worked miracles! If you choose to not put more items out after a set time, I strongly suggest you advertise that in Google, online, and when answering phone questions. (All avenues I used. None suggested anything earlier than 2pm.)
::The Great:: The pizzas themselves are amazing! Our old fave (twist) has now been replaced by the Memphis! And the garlic crusted stromboli, with full-flavor, house made marinara is ah-may-zing! Yummo! Salad bar is fresh with plenty of options for toppings [check out their Ranch dressing, it's one of the best I've ever had!]. Restaurant, restroom, and dining areas are clean! And great HVAC too, we were pleasantly refreshed on a hot summer day!
::The Good:: Buffet price is decent (if you get there early enough to partake in a full, fresh, revolving buffet bar), and they offered a nod to military with a discount for the service member. Kids prices make sense, I'm thankful they understand the 4yo doesn't eat like the 8 yo! Server was efficient and brought ketchup packets when the children requested it. First visit, she got upset and fussed at us bc the children had chosen a table that wasn't cleaned off yet.. she approached us as we were standing in line for the buffet and exasperated: I haven't cleaned that table off yet, can you please move the cups- I don't want to have to touch your cups [it wasn't the words, it was the delivery]. My husband applied grace, and moved our cups away while she cleaned it up. Being from the south, you learn how important approach and infliction is. "Excuse me, I would like to clean that table you've selected, would you mind taking up your cups so I can clean it?" - would have left me with a far better first moment impression! Nonetheless, she redeemed herself with courteous service, and attention to the...
Read more[[ Final edit: because only 4 pieces were eaten, we brought the pizza back in on Tuesday and were offered a refund, credit, or for a remake of the pizza. We chose to have it remade, because it really is great pizza.
The nice woman at the counter immediately noticed the old one was not a finished pizza. She apologized and once it was finished said that she mentioned to the team about making sure the cutting section on the ticket is covered in their training process. They remade it for us right away and she even brought it to our car. ]]
I’m disappointed :( Usually this pizza tastes good, but literally the last 3 times I asked them (and checked the box online) to cut the pizza like a pie, it’s been in squares. Some of us have sensory issues, and we like to eat this at the drive in movies, so it’s been incredibly frustrating to have sauce all over us and no crust to hold :/ I’ve mentioned something the past 2 times this happened.
I’m obviously not going to have them remake a pizza for that, but I probably won’t come back because it’s not convenient for me to come here. If it wasn’t an option I’d probably not be this annoyed, but it’s like EXTRA announced on the tickets, so I would expect someone to double check it.
[[Edit after getting home 10 mins later (they are closed now): They literally gave me a bbq and ranch pizza with chunks of chicken. There was no pineapple, a minimal amount of crispy bacon bits, and cheese was added that was not listed in the ingredients (even though every other pizza has the...
Read morePIZZA SO GOOD their name should be Bernie OHH OHH AHHH'S!!
WOW.... Just....wow! We moved to Maple Island 6 weeks ago, discovered Bernie O's and now I'll never be the same again!!
Those closest to me call me a "pizza snob" because I prob deserve the title, but I identify as a pizza connoisseur/fiend myself.
Bernie's pickle (just one of MANY unique pizzas) has made me want to share my experience with anyone nearby and always include the name should be Bernie OOOOO OOOO OOO's... I always end with been a lot awkward for anyone on my elevator this week and immediate family but people need to know IT'S THAT GOOD!!! They
Their ranch is better than JET'$$$- it's not runny. They also created a bunch of other unique sauces like hot honey ranch and a dill/cream cheese concoction they use to top their pickle masterpiece!
GO.
Service both times was also next level- in the form of patience to answer all our questions kindly. If Carlos answers you're on the line...
