The paved flat path here is really nice. There are a couple of little rustic trail offshoots that offer fishing access on the water and the main path has access two different entrances to the boardwalk. The boardwalk is definitely suffering from the flooding in the area but when the multiple boardwalks are accessible there are a variety of fishing decks. The property offers two different look out decks that give nice views of the lake. It is a small to medium size preserve that feels safe to use as it is well loved and has medium foot traffic. Update: the renovations are just wonderful and the boardwalk got the attention that it needed. Amenities: Primitive kayak launch Bike staging area Free parking (large dirt lot) Near the main lakeshore bike path Picnic tables+pavillion Look out decks Trash cans One porta potty(?) Plenty of benches Fishing decks Paved path/rustic paths/boardwalks Dogs are welcome

Great little place for a quick hike! I'm sure there were other paths that you could take, but I went on what looked like the main path - it's a paved sidewalk that goes through the treeline at the edge of the lake. Very beautiful! Turns into a boardwalk/bridge with benches and spots for fishing. It's fairly short, probably only a mile or less and would be great for kids or strollers. The area is dog-friendly, but there are lots of bikers and joggers and few points to pull off to the side if your dog is excitable.

Going to be nice, but lots of work being done & more needed. Part of the paved path was under water, and a portion of the walkway on the other path was washed out. Boardwalk is in poor condition in places & shoddily repaired. Park is being restored, so lots of heavy equipment, downed trees, bare dirt & dirt piles. The work being done is to remove invasive species, concrete, debris, etc, so I am glad they are doing it.
