We love Canary's in Cleveland on Puritas, but the only problem is they are cash only. We didn't have cash on us so we went to the North Olmsted location. The place is nice, and I like the feel of the cute diner, but the service was awful. The waitress didn't even greet us, she rolled her eyes when we told her we had life threatening allergies to seafood and nuts, she took our menus and made us feel like we were a burden, barely even talking to us. She delivered our food and didn't even say "enjoy your meal." Just slapped the plates down and kept walking. Another waitress asked my fiancé if he wanted more coffee, and he said sure, and she poured him more coffee but splattered it on his hand and didn't even apologize. Furthermore, I ordered a burger and she never asked me how I wanted my burger cooked, I should've mentioned I wanted it Medium but I was so distracted by the service I didn't even think-and usually the waitresses remind me. The food took awhile for it to come out, which is unusual for Canarys, and these are not Canarys standards. This location also charges way more. The same exact order costs us $5 less at the other location, and that includes a tip. Unbelievable. Will not return to the North Olmsted location if this is...
Read moreI would never recommend this place to anyone unless you want a cheap, fast and bad experience. The new place still looks like a Chinese buffet minus the serving stations. The decor was not really changed. When you walk in there is no hostess to greet you. The cashier lady will not take name or even keep an order of people. The hostesses are rude, slow, and very unprofessional. When you get to your seat they try to take your drink order before you even have your coat off. You will hardly get time to look at the menu before the server comes to try and take your order. The food is sub-par at best. It is cheap so do not expect quality. They give you the check as soon as the food comes. Then they will try to clear your table and get it ready for another guest before you have even finished eating. You will get what you pay for cheap prices= Bad service and food. The servers are really nice but depend on who you get. The few time I have been there it is been like above. DO NOT GO with a big party either and if you tell them a head of time. They will mess that up to. Just in general not a great place to go if you want to have a nice time out. Quick stop for cheap food yes. But not...
Read moreAte Breakfast here during the weekday morning. The food was tasty, generous portion and excellent value for the price. The coffee was good….I ate early so maybe the pot of coffee was freshly brewed. But it did make my meal more enjoyable with a fresh tasting hot coffee on a cold morning. Staff were very attentive and quick to serve. The food was served fast…I ordered directly from the breakfast menu….no fussy order from me. And I ordered an omelet with bacon and cheese. The bacon was large tasty pieces (excellent) and fully cooked to a crunchy texture before being added to the omelet. I love my bacon crunchy….hate chewy bits like on some pizzas around town. And the cheese was good which a balanced the flavors against the egg, so the omelet was not too eggy. You can tell I don’t do good with making my own omelets. And here is a real clue to any good diner…….it seemed many of the customers were regular and knew each other, saying hello, stopping to chat with each other, etc. That’s a reputation you can eat to! Highly recommend...
