This would have been our first time visiting Tio’s but unfortunately we weren’t even able to place an order for take out. We had gotten the RI FOOD FIGHTS for Christmas and were excited to explore new local restaurants. Only a few of the places allow take out, so we are saving these for our busiest nights; 3 boys and their sports keep us very busy. I call to place the order and they tell me that I have to go in to place my take out order. Which means that I would have to wait for my food, as if I was dining in. Doesn’t that defeat the entire purpose of the take out option? I asked to speak to the manager because I figured that the girl on the phone must have been confused. I wasn’t rude or disrespectful. I just wanted to understand the logic because it just didn’t make any sense. I have waitressed for over 17 years and when these new coupons/deals come out, management doesn’t always explain it to the staff. So it is very common that a majority of the staff at any given place won’t know what the coupon is about until they come upon the first one. After asking her three times, she finally put me on hold to go get the manager. After about 30 seconds she comes back to the phone to tell me that the manager is “too busy to talk to me, so yeah…” I am so disappointed and irritated with this entire situation. The only reason I am even writing this review is because I couldn’t get management to talk to me. So I have no other way of expressing my feelings and experience to them. I really hope that they fire that manager or at least give him the proper customer service training he clearly needs because if that’s the way he speaks to and treats the customers, business might start to decline. Restaurants are a dime a dozen, especially in RI. People go for the food/hype, but stay and return for the customer service. This could be the best pizza and wings in the state, but sadly we will never know because this experience has completely ruined it for me. Good luck!
UPDATE: I don’t know if there is an option to reply back to their reply to my review and I cannot even believe I am wasting my time with this right now, but their response was literally a bold faced LIE!!! I cannot stand liars and I have zero tolerance for poor customer service! I did not request delivery nor did I “flip” on the girl on the phone. The guy said he played back the phone call…first I find it hard to believe that a mom and pop pizza shop has that technology because it is pretty costly and time consuming but if so, I would be happy to stop in to listen to the call myself because I know what I said! I did not request delivery. Why would I request delivery when we weren’t even home or going to be home? And again, I wasn’t rude or disrespectful to her at all. The only time I even uttered a tiny attitude was after I was informed that the manger was too busy to speak to me. But seriously, who wouldn’t be defensive and taken back by the leader of an establishment that’s success is dependent on its customers, being “too busy” on a Wednesday night to talk to a concerned first time customer??? Anyway, I have wasted enough time with this ridiculous unprofessionalism. I am disappointed and disgusted with their behavior but you can’t fix stupid so I’m going to choose to walk away and support businesses that value...
Read moreOrdered a pizza for delivery online through Slice. Paid for delivery fee, delivery tip and service charges and taxes. Family emergency came up, wasn't able to receive the pizza because I had an emergency. Next day I call up tell my situation on how I live locally and support their small business. Ask if I can reorder large pepperoni pizza and I'll pick it up since I wasn't able to receive the pizza the night before. They told me no since delivery driver attempted to deliver. Ok, so I pay for a pizza, where did it go? They told me the delivery driver through it away. So now a pizza I paid for is in the trash. I would think they would save and eat or maybe sell it slices, which they probably did anyways but didn't want to tell me. So after trying to let them know and telling them that they would lose a customer and it's not good business to do so. They refused to replace my pizza. This ain't...
Read moreI wish I had taken a picture, but the pizza looked too good to not eat right away. My husband and I have been looking for a good pizza spot in N Prov for a while now. He found Tio’s and suggested we try it. I’m SO glad we did. This is by far the best pizza in the area. We got the Buffalo chicken pizza and the garlic knots. Both were phenomenal. We had leftovers and reheated them in the oven the next day and they were still so delicious. Crust is on the thinner side and still holds its shape. Not greasy at all. Great prices, friendly staff, and fast service. Will definitely be back the next time we’re...
