This place has always been on my list of "must try someday" restaurants, because I've passed by this place for many years, and they always seemed to be packed with people, which of course, is a great sign of customer satisfaction with an establishment. With that said, I was very disappointed with both the service and food. I was working nearby, so I figured I'd stop and try both a steak sandwich, as well as the roast beef. First off, theres really no where to wait inside when its busy and others are standing waiting packed in. I luckily grabbed a seat at the counter after ordering, which it seemed the waitress wasnt fond of me doing, after being asked somewhat sarcastically if I'm ordering anything, which I replied I already did. After about a 20 minute wait, I was less than impressed with the two sandwiches. I was charged for cheese on both, and only got it on one. Asked for mayo, but that was nowhere to be found on either. The sandwiches were incredibly small for the price, and the buns they are on are somewhat similar to any bargain pack of Hamburg buns at the gas station. The steak had a burnt flavor that tasted awful. The roast beef was the better of the two, but I'd stick to Walts if that's your thing, you wont be all the impressed here. This place was a big let down for me- granted they were very busy, but there was just too much I disliked about this lunch that goes away beyond busy staff or waiting areas. Had the food actually lived up to what I thought it would be, considering they literally have named themselves with the word beef in it, I would've overlooked the staff and arrangements. Unfortunately, I cannot recomend this...
Read moreThe last time I was dating was 40 years ago. I met a nice man who took me to lunch. It went well. So a second date? He said, I have to take you to the Beef Barn. While the company was great. The Beef Barn was a surprise. The menu is simple. Sandwiches. Fries. Salad. They did list desserts but we didnt have any. First, the atmosphere. There was a counter and small rooms. Lots to look at if you dont have someone across the table to enjoy We were in this tiny cozy room with chicken display. Yep. I know...corny but rustic, private and friendly. Like one of those places you have gone memories of going to with your grandparents even though you've never been. Food. Incredible prices. No sandwiches over $4. Sandwiches are not large but my roast beef was lean and hot. My date had grilled cheese with tomato grilled perfectly. Fries were hot and cooked. Dont you hate being served floppy. Greasy fries? Overall, I would return to the Beef Barn. If you like friendly service, old fashion sandwiches and instant nostalgia...this...
Read moreIt was super packed busy on a Wednesday night. The whole parking lot was full. Really fun atmosphere here. I loved themed places with comfortable seating. Almost every seat was full but it’s self seating which is cool so you get to pick where you want to be. We got just a plain cheeseburger and a small fry. Super cheap here but everything is by itself so the burger was like $4.50 but the fries don’t come with that price obviously. The chocolate shake is just like soft serve ice cream. It came out very quickly so I’d assume it’s in one of those mixer machines ready to go. It’s super fun to come here if you want cheap simple food. The decor is very entertaining. I see why people love it here. Good for families because of the prices etc. They serve just beer and wine. No hard alcohol I don’t think. Not accessible by public transport at all, the nearest bus stop is like a 45 min walk away so you...
