So-o-o-o, I'm extremely happy to announce that Monica reopened the Tavern on 06/03/20! Yay! Life (and Damn-Good food) apparently goes on despite the whole world's entire way of life falls into the crapper. Hopefully, by now, everyone is aware of the current covid culture concerning commercial companies. For those that aren't, I'd suggest using that interweb thingamajig to reacquaint oneself on current rules and restrictions.
Can I give 'em 6 or 7 stars?! Well, why the Hell not??!! Frickin' google mumble, mumble, mumble......Stellar beer selection (including many local brews from the whole of New England), changing often, with samples available for the brews on tap. Food is frickin' awesome and always Fresh, never Frozen, AND reasonably priced! I had a cup of Portuguese kale soup and it's now one of my favorites whenever featured. I like how they do their pizza, made-from-scratch, thin crust with cheese brought right to the edge of the pie. DEE-licious! Fries and Wings are Phenomenal! (No, seriously! Try 'em!) Food is delivered promptly and I've NO complaints about anything I've ordered. Ever. And if you gravitate towards the SPICY life I HIGHLY RECOMMEND attempting either their Cranberry-Habanero or Fire sauce!!! Location boasts outdoor patio tables and is well air-conditioned inside. Recent renovations increased bar seating from not-very-much to A-great-deal-more-than-not-very-much and added a divider separating the restaurant proper from the bar area. The new Mug Club is up and running! I have it on the best authority that there will be more improvements in the future, including... possibly... verily maybe... an outdoor awning for patio seating. And. Hmmm. Should I mention this...? Well, okay. As a reward for those that Actually Read... I'll share two somethings about the Tavern that I truly love. Firstly, damn-near Everything is made from scratch - and secondly that any ingredient referenced on the menu can be incorporated into almost any dish ordered. For example: ask for an egg on yer burger, ask for broccoli on yer burger... or pizza... or ask for a Philly cheesesteak grinder in a pizza configuration (F#@king BOMB with her ranch sauce! OH, HELL YEAH!)
Easy access to Rte. 146/146A via Pound Hill Road. From my work in Cranston it takes under a 1/2 hour door-to-door to get there. From the Scituate/Greenville locale it takes barely 10 minutes to traverse, depending (of course!) on your chosen route. From I-295 to Rte.7 (aka: Douglas Pike) and onto Rte.5 via Providence Pike takes all of 10-15...
Read moreI can't recommend this place. We tried it for the 1st time tonight and got take out. My son got the Pound Hill Chicken. It was a fake chicken patty on a cheap hamburger bun, with spoiled lettuce, one slice of bacon, one slice of tomato with congealed cheese, and it was so soggy-- it was sopping wet-- that he could not eat it. The fries were mediocre. It was a $12.99 piece of garbage that went right into the trash. I got the chicken Cobb salad and asked them to hold the tomatoes and the salad dressing. Well, it looks like they held everything else, too. On a few pieces of lettuce was a small piece of grilled chicken. One hardboiled egg sliced, one slice of bacon. That was a $13.99 disaster. So chintzy. What, you guys couldn't put one more hard boiled egg on there? We will never return....
Read moreMy husband and I have eaten here a few times. The first time, my extra well done wings came out soggy, and I was very disappointed. However, it could have been an off day so I gave it another shot. Tonight we ordered take out. I ordered chicken parm dinner…. GROSS….. I received chicken tenders on top of pasta with a bit of sauce and cheese for $17!!! It looked like something my 11 year old made. When I called to question that we received the correct meal, the staff made me feel like I should have known it was going to be chicken tenders, and it was my fault. Im extremely disappointed with this “chicken parm dinner”. I DO NOT recommend this place for a dinner. The quality of...
