Pound Hill Creamery & Cafe — Restaurant in North Smithfield

Walked into the store, was about a million degrees in there. Employees were sweating profusely. I see the mini-split air conditioner on wall not running. I Inquired about it and the staff told me "we aren't allowed to use the AC", customer behind me said "Marc is very thrify and wants to save money and doesn't want the AC on in the afternoon".

What an absolutely disgraceful way to run a business and treat your employees. That Mitsubishi minisplit wouldn't use more than $5/day (and that is a fact based on its ratings) in electricity to cool that place during business hours - or at least at the minimum blow cool air on the hard working employees.

Who cares if some cold air is wasted by having the counter windows open? That $5 a day in electricity would more than pay for itself in increased employee productivity and customer satisfaction. Terrible, disgraceful way to treat people that...
