Shrinkflation at its finest. Wow. Attached are images of the "chicken sandwich" I received—if you can call it that. For context, this is my third visit to Athens. First visit: Great experience. I had the Chicken Pita—tasty, well-portioned, and accurate to the menu. Second visit: Same order, but someone removed the ingredients I wanted. It made the meal borderline inedible. Third (and final) visit: I tried the grilled chicken sandwich. The moment I bit into it, I thought I was eating bread and lettuce. The chicken was laughably thin, and to make matters worse, there were onions on the sandwich—nowhere in the DoorDash description were onions mentioned. Let me be clear: I’ve had chicken nuggets with more meat than this sandwich. I’ve seen fingernails thicker than the "chicken breast" used. I’ve eaten broccoli with more flavor. What I got was half a pound of lettuce, a charred sliver of chicken, and a disappointing mess not worth the money. The product delivered looks nothing like the advertised images. Three visits. Three disappointments. I’m out.

I came in yesterday and ordered a greek quesadilla, only had it once and it was good, but this time, far from satisfactory. Highly upset! My meat, the little bit i had felt and looked like rocks. It was severely overcooked and burned, then they tried to mask it with a pound of sauce but was very noticeable because it was so hard to chew on. Also when i ordered this meal before, it came with greek fries in a long large container, but i got a small/half order of fries. I called them to tell them how unsatisfied i was and all they offered me was another 30 min drive back up there, at gas being over $5 a gallon, to remake my food. At least throw another meal in, a coupon for something…anything to compensate for my time and i paid and tipped totaling almost $20. This was a waste of time and im still looking for the customer service. At this point im not returning, why would i so i could drive out my way and receive subpar food??? Very very very disappointing!!! I

I had a taste for a gyro & have passed this place numerous times. So I decided to give them a try. I went in about 40mins before closing. There was a gentleman in the dining room sweeping the floor & as soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile. He immediately stopped what he was doing, went behind the counter & proceeded to take my order. I got the gyro combo with Greek fries & a can of soda for $13. The place was very clean & the man who took my order was cool. We chatted for a minute or two, while I waited for my food. I did not feel rushed or like I was an inconvenience since I came in so close to closing time. The food I received was fresh & big enough to share! I also really enjoyed the green onions on top of the Greek fries! It gave it a nice pop of color & a unique twist to the popular side. I will definitely be back!!

They owner manager appears to be a nice and reasonable person but i believe the hardships of the economy have lead him to implement cost saving attempts that have negatively impacted then quality of food. On more than one occasion we have been served the skin of the spick of gyro meat which, when new meat is placed on the stick to cut off, it is the really really tough outside and barely edible. Instead of the generous slices of meat, they cut the narrowest slices like strips of torn cloth. This is not the gyro meat i ate as a child. Next the pita bread was beyond stale; no doubt it is expired. It was extremely tough to chew. Most upsetting was the watery tzatziki sauce obviously given in that way to save money; the sauce is tasteless. Finally there was oil in the bottom of my container NEVER seen that before. So after returning the inedible meat for some meat that wasn’t from the outside of the Spick, we attempted to eat this food and it made us sick. I had the worst indigestion. I don’t know what was in that mystery tzatziki sauce, but it gave me a very bad upset stomach. My husband Ended up throwing out his food as did I. Unfortunately, after eating their on and off for the past 16 years that we’ve been married and living here, we will not be eating there any longer. I know that being a business owner is tough. I know that they have to be creative and fine ways to cut cost. However, they have to ask them sales will it ultimately cause them to lose business Because not only am I no longer eating there, I used to DoorDash from there when I had company, we won’t be doing that any longer or referring people. Our health is the most important thing that we can take care of next to our children and of course, even more so our relationship with Christ. I can’t risk my health eating food that is improperly prepared so someone can make as much money as possible in their business selling that food. It is on fair. From now on I’ll be cooking from home a lot more on the weekends to prep for the week so I don’t need to do these last-minute stops in the middle of the day for my lunch and my husband‘s dinner, it’s unfortunate but it is a lesson well learned and $31 That I unfortunately just flush down the drain because I...

This place advertises a sandwich called a gym shoe. A sandwich with gyro meat, Italian beef meat and corned beef meat. Also with hot peppers. The picture looks appetizing. I have had the gym shoe sandwich at other restaurants and it is a good sandwich. I ordered the sandwich here only to get home to a sandwich with gyro meat and crumbled up pieces of another kind of meat. I returned the sandwich and explained that I may had been given the wrong sandwich. The cook/ cashier/ manager apologized and made me another sandwich. Silly me, I didn’t check the second sandwich so now when I get home I have a sandwich with gyro meat , crumbles of weird meat, lettuce and tomato. I take the sandwich back again but I asked if they even make the sandwich on the picture because I keep getting sandwiches with no corned beef or Italian beef. Instead of him telling me that they don’t make that sandwich, he instantly got angry and went into the cash drawer and gave me my money back. He actually slammed the money on the counter and then slammed the cash drawer back. Change went flying everywhere. I didn’t ask for a refund, I really wanted that sandwich. Now I’m embarrassed because there were other guest in the restaurant. He said that the weird meat on the sandwich was steak meat. Again, that is not how the sandwich is advertised. When I looked thoroughly at the menu I realized that they don’t even sell Italian beef sandwiches or corned beef sandwiches. So why would they advertise a picture of a sandwich that is made with 3 meats and they don’t even carry 2 of the meats. After the way I was treated I would never return...

Tried to order from here but was told they were out of pita bread two days in a row will update review once I can get and honest review about the quality of food but as far as availability this the score for now is 3

Update was able to finally able try this establishment and Wow Wow Wow 5 stars and No need to contact the manager I was very pleased with finally eating food from here

Chicken Pita was so good and was made fresh veggies and sauce helped balance the taste but the grilled chicken was some of the best I’ve tasted in a long time.

Chicken Zinger was absolutely delicious maybe could use a tad bit more sauce but they give ya some on the side so you can add more. One zinger very filling.

Gyro Plate was also a hit meat was plenty hearty slices and not all greasy like some other places pita breads were fresh and sauce was great

Athens Zeus Burger was good maybe just a tad bit chewy but overall the added gyro meat and condiments were balanced and the pickles added that extra zing to the burger was great overall and was tasty

Last but not least the Athens Greek fries are now my favorite I could not believe how amazing and how long I have been missing out on these. Fries with feta cheese Greek seasoning and sauce with a pepperoncini for garnish I would ask for extra sauce only because it compliments them so well but the feta cheese and seasoning were spot on

Overall this place is now my favorite Place in the region for Greek gyros and Athens has definitely many other foods to try I’m just getting...
