The exterior of this place seemed mysterious. I had a good guess that I was about to be served authentic food and that guess was correct! My significant other and I walked inside and we were quickly assigned to a booth to sit at. We were given complimentary chips and salsa, as well as two sauces in bottles. The chips and salsa were great! The green sauce was very good. The red sauce was spicy, but it was good. We were even given an additional basket of tasty chips at no charge. I went with a Diet Coke from Soft Drinks for $2.99 and from the Mix Drinks, I chose a Margarita for $10.00 Lg. I got it on the rocks with salt around the rim. The Diet Coke was awesome and so was the free refill. The Margarita was fantastic! It was by far the best I have had in a long time! It even lasted me almost the entire duration of my visit. From the Combinaciones section, we ordered the Azteca. It had One chicken enchilada, one pork tostada, one steak taco $12.99. We also ordered the Alambre Mixto. It was Pollo, chorizo ,Asada choice of tortilla $13.99. We went with corn for the tortilla choice. The enchilada was amazing! It was packed with flavor. The pork tostada surprised me with how many ingredients it was able to be composed of. The flavor was definitely there! The steak taco was gone pretty fast. I think it’s safe to say that I loved it. The Azteca turned out to be a great choice! The Alambre Mixto had so much meat. It was all cooked excellent. The corn tortillas were pleasant. I ended up loving the Alambre Mixto just as much as the Azteca. The service was wonderful. Our server was fast and polite. There were plenty of employees that assisted him with our table throughout our visit to ensure we were taken care of and that everything was clean. Overall, I was highly impressed! I can hardly wait to come back. Date of visit: 4/29/24

Authentic is the correct term to use when describing La Hacienda Azteca. The smells and tastes are all there, as well as the ambiance. While sipping on my agua de Jamaica (habiscus) and enjoying my chips and chunky molcajete style salsa and chips, I enjoyed watching the way the family works. I say the family because this is exactly what I would expect in a visit to a dear family members' home. When an employee is in the need to leave a task they are working on because their attention has to be diverted to a more urgent matter; somone arrives and continues and finshes the task for that person. It's such a beautiful synchronized but normal flow of a the way we are accustomed to work. My daughter ordered corn tortilla quesadillas with steak. I ordered a Tarimoro combination; it is a chicken flauta, a pork gordita and an enchilada. Oh to my pleasant surprise when I realized the tortilla from the flauta and the enchilada is handmade. The guac that came as a side was so creamy, the cheese was so fresh. I always have an issue with the rice and beans in Mexican restaurants, because they are so tasteless, many times undeecooked or over cooked. Truthfully both were so good. Once again was such a good surprise. Absolutely enjoyed the meal. My server was Anna, she was pleasant, respectful and welcoming. She made sure along with all the other many employees that were busy working around the restaurant that we were satisfied and that we didn't need anything. Will absolutely visit again when I'm in town.

My mom recently moved to the area and has been wanting to try this place since she always sees the parking lot packed. We decided to come by on a Sunday around 5:30 PM and had a short wait — about 15 minutes — which wasn’t bad at all. They have some cute little benches on the side of the restaurant where you can sit while you wait. After about 15 minutes, we got a text that our table was ready and we were seated at a cozy booth. Our server, Martin, came by and took our orders. I got two tacos de lengua, one al pastor, and an agua de horchata, while my mom ordered the camarones a la diabla. The food came out really fast, within 7 minutes. The food itself was pretty good. My tacos could have been a little hotter, but the flavor was still there. My mom’s dish, on the other hand, came out piping hot and was packed with flavor. The french fries were nice and crispy, and the sauce on the shrimp had a serious kick, perfect if you love spicy food! Service could have been a little more attentive, as we didn’t really see our server again after he took our order. We had to flag down another waitress to get a to-go box and cash out, but it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, it’s a great little neighborhood spot with a lot of potential. We had a nice time, and I would definitely come back again to try more from the menu!

Took my mom here for the first time. I had passed by a few times, and saw they always had cars that filled their parking lot. It had been busy, but had started to clear out. My mom ordered MENUDO, and I ordered a combo plate, Tamarillo which was supposed to be Pork gordita, pork Tostada, and a cheese enchilada. When I ordered it, the waitress kinda smirked, when I mispronounced it, then repeated what I said. I was served the wrong platter I'm ALLERGIC TO BEEF, I haven't had any beef products in years. Until today, they served me the wrong plate, which I didn't realize, till after I took a bite out of a beef (carne asada taco) I had to ask my mom, if it was beef. Then I had to run to my car and grab some emergency benadryl and allergy medication, so my mom didn't have to call an ambulance. Then I realized the enchilada had chicken, which was the Azteca Combo instead. Our waitress never came back to check on us. Was still waiting on our waitress who never came back, for anything, nor our check. Sometime later, a lady came to check on us, and my mother told her, "my daughter had an allergic reaction to her food. She's allergic to beef, this is beef right? She ordered only pork things on her plate." Then the lady was like no, that's not what you ordered. She didn't take my order. Someone else did. I said, "this is not what I ordered. I ordered the Tamarillo combo, which the waitress even repeated it back to me." I'm not trying to argue with anyone when I go out to eat. Nor am I trying to have an allergic reaction to something. But for someone to say I ordered something else, when I know I can't eat certain things, and the waitress made the mistake. It's not my fault. Whoever that lady was didn't help the situation. Or excuse the mistake, but just dismissed it, like it was our fault. When the check was paid, it said Azteca Combo, so the waitress made the mistake and not the cooks. It's hours later an my throat is still scratchy, face is swollen, and my ankles are swollen it could have been way worse for this restaurant. I'm glad they didn't have to call an ambulance. I give this place 2 stars, because my mom enjoyed her Menudo and the homemade tortillas. I'm giving zero stars for the...

Update: Gave this place another chance, and if you decide to go you’ll be in for another surprise…expect even more fees to your check. Now they charge a fee for using your credit card as a payment method. They raised their prices, and on top of that they charge taxes on that credit card fee and the tip is based off of all the fees including your food, credit card fees, taxes. 20% tip after all this has been added.

Been coming to this restaurant many years, but today was very disappointing. First, we asked for a kids quesadilla meal that comes with rice and beans with corn tortilla , but they gave my child a huge flour quesadilla with pico de gallo and guacamole which he didn’t eat. Second, from all the many times we’ve been there we were never charged for chips or salsa, but this time we got charged for them. Every Mexican restaurant we’ve ever been to, has never charged us for chips and salsa when you sit in to eat. Third, the waiter guy that took our order never came back to check on our table, a waitress came to bring us the rest of our food, but hardly checked on our table to ask if we needed anything else. Fourth, we were charged an automatic 20% gratuity on our check for a table of 4. I am a great tipper, especially when I receive great service, but I certainly do not appreciate an automatic charge of 20% on my bill, because that is an optional amount that the customer should decide to leave depending on service that was received. Based on a previous review, we are not the only ones upset with this automatic charge on customer’s bills and per the restaurant’s response, it was supposed to be removed, but obviously it has not been removed because we were charged for it without our knowledge today. That being said, after today, this place has disappointed us to...
