We have a service dog. We were looking forward to dining here to celebrate our daughter's birthday-looks like a great place, but when we entered, the young man-staff member, BLOCKED AND RESTRICTED our ability to get through the congested aisle and to our designated table and by refusing to move, her service dog went into protective mode and barked at him. Allow clearance, please stay out of the way and don't stand in front of a service dog. He is trained for many tasks. He will protect his owner when threatened and not retreat, particularly because he is a T1D service dog first and his owner will likely be in an emergency situation around the time of eating, albeit high or low-in this case low and in need of food-soon😨. The employee may not understand the intricacies or complexities of how to act around a service dog and I won't mention his other skills, that's for his employer to find out, and in no way is that intended to be an accusation; however, the aisle is too narrow, even for me, to bring a wheelchair through safely without a potential incident in my opinion. Nevertheless, others were enjoying themselves and it looked like a great place to dine. Unfortunate for us, but fine for others👍 We had to choose a different restaurant that was more compliant with the ADA and had open access, clear passageway and no interference from staff. It was difficult because she was already in distress and in need of food, but our dinner was lovely and we had NO issues, whatsoever!! Perhaps opening the side door and training staff to NOT block passageways/access from a service dog will help others. If he had been a mobility or seeing eye dog, the owner could've tripped and fallen, causing undue harm. Anyone who believes these service dogs should be silent is uninformed. I'm also disabled, diabetic and was standing behind my daughter with a cane after opening a heavy door. I was unable to get between the dog and the employee either. Lessons. Please prepare with better ways to allow access to service dogs, the handicapped or disabled and never allow your employees to be the cause (or even the perceived cause) of the problem. If you have no handicaps, disabilities or need for clear passageway, I believe this is a great...
Read morePros: extremely reasonable very satisfying very friendly staff spacious enough social distancing doesn't feel like an issue. great atmosphere
Cons: slighty disorganized staff (not enough to affect the experience) fries weren't the best (still good enough where this is a very minor issue)
I was definitely not disappointed by this restaurant. Going in on a Sunday for dinner rush and seeing this place as busy as it was definitely made it a good sign to begin with. Staff was a little frazzled and there was a little chaos, however, even with some of the confusion; the waitress we had was wonderful and the food was incredible. I had the Farmer's Club and my sister had the Hot Chicken. Both came with a choice of side, soup, AND a dessert. The club and the chicken were both fantastic. The Broccoli Cheddar soup was by far the best one I've had in forever. I'd argue it rivaled the Broccoli Cheddar from the old Ruby Tuesday's that once resided in Woodfield Mall. It's one of those soups that would be worth a drive just for that alone - top in that they included warm bread with it and the entire first course was definitely made special. To keep this a bit shorter of a review, I'll cut out the in-depth description of the sandwich and Hot Chicken, but suffice it to say both were memorable. The mozzerella stick appetizer you could tell wasn't home-made, but, to get 8 of them for $4.99 - you really can't complain because they were still tasty. The dessert was also just as good. I had to force a lot of restraint to not get a whole chocolate peanutbutter pie to go; which, with a whole pie being only $10 makes it a great deal for how good it was. The cheesecake according to my sister was not the best ever, but, she did really enjoy it. All and all, this is a place I will definitely be writing home about and will...
Read moreI have been here several times before and have had great service. I’ve usually stopped in during work Lunch breaks with coworkers. Well, my daughter was on break. I decided to bring her in for lunch while we were doing a little Christmas shopping. Upon arriving, we were seated immediately. We looked over the menu for quite a while and hadn’t been approached for a drink order. They are always pretty busy so I didn’t really think anything of it. I noticed the table across from us was cleared immediately after the people had left. I made sure I told my daughter to close her menu so they would see we were ready to order. A couple was seated at the table across from us and immediately a waitress was there to take their drink order. By this point, my daughter and I were both hungry thirsty and a bit irritated with the whole situation. I asked my daughter if she was willing to wait any longer, and she suggested we go somewhere else. The waitress overheard our conversation and proceeded to turn around and tell me that we hadn’t been waiting that long. I couldn’t believe the tone that she had in front of the couple at the table as well as my daughter and I. We immediately left the restaurant as I walked out, I made sure I let the hostesses know why we were leaving. We traveled down the street and had a delicious lunch at Dante‘s house of pizza! Thank you for that horrible experience! The unfortunate thing is even though I had so many wonderful experiences at your restaurant. It took that one bad one to ruin it for me. I will not shame you with no stars because I have had your food and it is fantastic and I did want my daughter to try it since we are not from Highland and did have to travel a bit to get there. Since I do work highland I will suggest to my colleagues to go elsewhere for lunch. I will...
